Hey, everyone!
To those reading my work for the first time — welcome! And to my longtime readers: hey! It's been a while, hasn't it?
If you remember my "Word to the Readers" in I'm In Love With Your Sister, I talked about wanting to grow as a writer. After setting that book aside, I enrolled in a Creative Writing course this past September — and wow, did it shake me up.
I won't lie: there were moments I wanted to delete everything I'd ever written. For real. I'm In Love With Your Sister included. But deep down, I knew the ideas — the characters, the plot, the setting — were solid. I just needed to revise, trim the excess (yes, kill my darlings), and rewrite with intention.
So for those waiting on the second draft of I'm In Love With Your Sister — it's coming, but it'll take time.
During the course, I completed several assignments, and for my Capstone Project, I had to write a 15-page story. That story is what you're about to read: The BlackJack Mafia. I'll share more about how the title and concept came to be later.
Please note: this is just the short version. I've had this story with me for a while, and it surprised me that I chose it for the project. I plan to expand it — the characters have so much more to say. But first, I wanted to share it here, with you, to see how it lands. If you'd like to see a longer version, let me know. Your comments, reviews, and suggestions mean the world to me.
Oh, and if you're wondering what grade I got in the course... I'll reveal that at the end. 😁
So here goes nothing.
Ahem! Ladies and gentlemen, may I introduce... The BlackJack Mafia.296Please respect copyright.PENANAnLcwfs8dfi
