Relatives are a strange kind of people — they see your posts on social media, but instead of commenting publicly, they message your parents privately.
And having a big family? For someone like me, that’s never easy.
My name is Arvin, and I run my own mini market now. But it wasn’t always like this.
Wherever I go, there’s always someone who knows my father. He’s both a doctor and a politician — a respected man, known in every corner of the town. Which means… I was known too.
When I was in school, the teachers and staff always kept a close eye on me because of him. Every mistake, every move — they noticed. It was the same in college. Even my lecturers and hostel warden knew him. I felt like I was living under a microscope, constantly being compared to my father’s reputation.
But the hardest phase of my life was between the ages of 24 and 27.
After completing my degree, I started job hunting. But finding a job in my field wasn’t easy. I didn’t want to just work — I wanted to build something meaningful, something connected to what I had studied.
So I decided to wait.
I believed that one day, the right opportunity would come. But that decision came with a price.
For my father, it became a matter of pride. Everywhere he went, people asked the same question —
“So, what is your son doing now?”
At first, he answered patiently — “He’s waiting for the right job.”203Please respect copyright.PENANA1I7VoKFvbw
But as months passed, I saw the worry in his eyes. He began to fear what others would think — what society would say about his son, still unemployed.
One evening, he told me to take any job, just to get started. But something inside me said no. I couldn’t do a job I didn’t love. Because if you don’t love what you do, it stops being work — it becomes a burden.
So I refused.
Weeks passed, and our relationship started to fall apart. My father stopped talking to me like before. He even began avoiding social gatherings because he didn’t want to face questions about me.
Then came the breaking point.
I received a job offer from a manufacturing company — not related to my field. I refused again. That night, we had a huge argument. My father shouted, told me to leave the house if I couldn’t listen to him. My mother stepped in, trying to calm us both.
That night, I went to bed angry and hurt.
But the next morning, something miraculous happened.
I received a call from one of the companies I had applied to months ago. They offered me a position — in my field. My dream job.
It felt like all my prayers had finally been heard.
I joined the company and, within a few months, got promoted to Manager. My father, seeing my success, apologized. He told me he was sorry for losing faith. I couldn’t blame him — he was just a father caught between love and the fear of what society might say.
Our bond grew stronger again.
Years later, I decided to take another leap — I started my own business. My own mini market.
Today, it’s doing well. Profits are high, and life is stable. But more than money, I’ve gained something greater — peace.
Because now I understand something important:203Please respect copyright.PENANAXDDbnuGlLo
This world will always have something to say.203Please respect copyright.PENANAUTcWGfYvXK
They will always have questions, doubts, and opinions.
But if you stay strong, patient, and true to your path — you’ll silence every question with your success.
