My name is Phoebe Gabriels. I'm an obsessive computer nerd who spends a great percentage of her time on the virtual screen. My fingers got red just because of that damn keyboard and my arms got feeble because of the mouse.
First thing after I woke up, I instantly ran to my swirly chair and turned on my computer. I stared at my satisfying wallpaper showing a picture of a kitten.
But...my breakfast. I rushed to the wooden door as quickly as I can.
I ate my Froot Loops without showing expression. Even though, they were delicious.
After my quick cool bath, I looked at my reflection. I had my normal glasses on, my messy black hair, and a few freckles on my cheeks. My eyebags looked horrible.
I wore my normal dress: a purple t-shirt that says "NERD POWER!!!", a blue skirt, and some black slippers.
I typed really quickly and hovered my mouse like a cleaning sponge. I browsed the Internet for some new computer games because my other games were boring and crappy.
I found this one odd game called "Journey to the Cyber Realm". It seemed like a good game, because the description says: "Embark on a cyber journey like never before! Fight unique monsters and befriend various warriors!"
I installed it, hoping the game would be awesome. A few minutes later, the game finished downloading, which is weird, because usually the games I download take excruciatingly long.
After some installs for my computer, I double-clicked on the "Journey to the Cyber Realm" icon, which looks like a black thumbnail with some green dots scattered around it.
Like all games I attempt playing, this one pestered me saying, "Are you sure you want to run this file?"
I rolled my eyes, clicking "Yes". The computer shook violently and was surrounded by a blue electric veil. The computer screen flickered rapidly, and sucked me in.
I fainted. When I woke up, it was completely dark. Oh, right. My hair was blocking my vision.
When I got my long hair out of the way, I saw a bunch of futuristic stuff: hovering cars, flashing neon signs, and even people wearing rocket boots. The everything was black, highlighted with lime-colored lines, kinda like what you see in cyberspace, which left the only light sources the signs and those lines.
My hair was surrounded by green flashing ones and zeros. My hair had a green-blue-purple gradient, from tip to the start of the hair. My outfit quickly turned completely black, which had various colored lights scattered around it.
A man in a purple unitard walked by me. "Excuse me. Where am I?" I asked the man. The man remained silent. After fixing his sunglasses, he replied, "Welcome to Journey the Cyber Realm, ma'am. Hope you enjoy." He just went away.
"Journey to the Cyber Realm," I repeated. I gazed at the futuristic buildings in front of me.
I looked around and found a building called "The Looter". I went in to see what was in there.
As I sat down, I was startled by a muscular hairy man with an eyepatch and black curly hair, plus a beard, which all adds to a manly personality. "What can I get you, ma'am?" the man asked me in his raspy voice. He polished a silver mug with a dirty rag. "What is this a store for, exactly?" I asked, raising my finger.
"Allow me to tell you," a silhouette said to me. I could only make out a few details: a bowler hat, a skinny figure, a tall stature, and boots, the ones cowboys wear.
He walked away from the shade, showing a handsome face, with some blonde hair, a poncho, and some cowboy-themed clothes. "Follow me," he instructed me, pointing at himself, and his fingernail unexpectedly elongated into a sharp, red claw. That startled me.
As I went with him, he told me, " This is a store full of weapons, armor, and antiques." He showed me jars of dead animals, like snakes, scorpions and cockroaches. I was fascinated by swords, artillery and glowing armor. "Nice," I remarked, trying to touch a black decorated suit. The "tour guide" slapped my hand, warning me with an assuring "No."
"By the way, my name is Marcus Miles," he greeted. "Now let's go back to the tavern part of this business."
We walked back to the part I met the hairy man. "Can I get you a drink?" the man asked. "You have an iced tea?" I requested as I looked at the other customers: a snake-headed man, a succubus, and a man whose entire body, except his thin belly, is covered by a black robe. Honestly, I wish I had the courage to say, What the hell is with this game?
After my drink, I tried walking out, only to be reminded by the bartender: "That's two coins. How ya gonna pay for that?"
Oh no.
