A bustling small city.
A perplexing case of a fatal fall.
A remarkable woman on the verge of social ruin.

A desperate counterattack and a stunning reversal of fate!

From a scandal-ridden starlet of the past to today’s “Saint on Earth”—her public persona is nothing short of perfect.

But behind the glory, are her good deeds acts of compassion, or calculated moves?
Is her faith a genuine calling, or a transaction?
When a “messenger of God” believes she is in control, divine punishment quietly awaits.

How does a woman use faith, image, and calculation to build her own “altar of persona,” rising ever higher?
Yet as she ascends to her self-made altar, fate has already prepared a silent sacrifice for her—

After all, who can truly know the mind of fate?

This is a modern fable about faith, public opinion, persona, and female desire.
The ultimate truth—perhaps—survives only in each person’s dreams.
(This story is purely fictional. Any resemblance to real persons is purely coincidental.)

Publication Statement & Author’s Preface for

《Wang Rong: A Modern Parable》

《Wang Rong: A Modern Parable》is a modern fable novella. Through the journey of a woman who rises from humble beginnings to the heights of power, only to fall amid vanity and conflict, the story explores gender structures, media narratives, idol worship, and the enigma of fate in contemporary society. The work takes the fictional character “Wang Rong” as its protagonist, blending real-world social phenomena and types of public figures, but all events, characters, emotions, and destinies are the product of creative freedom, not representations or references to any real individuals.

This book aims, through literary and symbolic craft, to elevate the story into a fable reflecting the collective spirit of the era. Wang Rong, in the narrative, is a mirror—not of one person, but of countless women navigating gender, social class, faith, media, and public expectation. The work does not intend to comment on, attack, or define any real-life person. Readers are invited to approach it with an open mind, focusing on the social questions and human inquiries it seeks to explore.

The author believes that one of literature’s responsibilities is to reflect reality and to challenge imagination and boundaries. In this age of drifting meanings, “The Legend of Wang Rong” hopes to prompt reflection and questioning regarding women’s circumstances and modern values.

This story is entirely fictional. All characters, plots, and events are the author’s creation. Any resemblance to real people or events is purely coincidental. This work is a literary exploration of human nature and social issues, with no intention of alluding to or commenting on any real individuals.

Sincerely,
The Author
