Year 2: Earthbound Angel
The planet once named Earth has been deemed a dead planet. Life has dropped to a weak 0.003%. The human race has fallen and most other life on the planet is dead. Through the traitorous storms of this once caring planet strides a careful man. Once a proud sergeant of this world's military now a wanderer of the horrible abyss. The man finds refuge in a cave that shields him from the harsh conditions of the storm. It is placed particularly high to keep water from flowing in but some dripping happens occasionally. He uses this time to sleep as his body grows weary of aimless travel.

The sounds of boots slamming against the ground fills sergeant Duran’s ears as he runs from the monstrosity that arose from Avian's corpse. Around him he can see people being easily incinerated by fire and lightning beasts. The wind itself is a weapon as pockets of air shred anything that dare pass through them. Angels attempt to fight but the numbers are too vast and their strength is at an all time low. The sergeant is desperate to find Lee after what he saw. With the sudden appearance of dangerous air patches most didn’t stand a chance. Including Lia and Aaron. A patch of dangerous air opening between them. One second they were there and the next they were gone. It was one of the most horrifying deaths he’s ever seen.They were torn to shreds in front of his eyes. Duran wishes he could continue but he is already injured so he must abandon his comrades to survive. Even so there is a strong part of him that begs for him to keep going. This hesitation proves fatal as behind him a stone monster lands ready to crush him. Duran manages to escape its attack just by a hair as he scours the battlefield for anything that might be useful. the stone beast suddenly fully crushes his body, killing him. It throws his body away as his final breath leaves his body he can only think of cursing this world for betraying him. Both figuratively and literally. His corpse lands beside that of an angel’s corpse and as their blood mix so do their souls.

It is a rare occurrence for 2 souls to fuse out of desperation but not unheard of. Every soul has a frequency and if 2 souls with similar frequencies happen to meet during their journey to the after life something special could happen. A phenomenon called, “The Last Breath.” Where these 2 souls combine attributes to form a being made completely of both.

This can only be achieved if the souls are of similar origin. Even if the set up is perfect the chances of the event happening is 1 in 100 quadrillion. Instead of fully joining with each other the angels soul to a backseat to the human spirit. Using the man's body as a vessel for both of their souls. This would lead to something truly remarkable. He would rise to his feet looking around to see the once raging fields of elemental beasts now nothing but a barren wasteland. He struggles to gain control of his wings before they stop and the glow of gold fades. He looks around noticing he's in the upper atmosphere. He can see the glorious sun in the distance as he floats filled with a feeling of peace. Looking at the world from such a height. It rids the body of feeling making all conflicts seem so petty and childish. He then tries flapping them catching the wind as he eventually manages to slow himself down. He takes this time to catch his breath but he is quickly cut short. A gust of air slashes come his way in which he is barely able to avoid them. He wonders how the angels made it look so easy to keep balance in the air. An air elemental then grabs him and drags him through air dangerous currents before throwing him into a mountain. Any other time he would’ve died but he's still alive. “Is this what it's like to be an angel?” Duran has no time to let his thoughts set in as the air starts to weaponize around him. He quickly takes to the sky doing his best to fly out of the way of the winds. He flies in before striking the air beast, sending it plummeting down. He then flies down to crush it under the force but just before he can make contact it disappears in a flurry of wind. In a fit of desperation Duran does something unexpected as he summons a spear of light and breaks through the beast's core. He drives it deeper until it completely shatters. The wind that made the beast disperses as Duran collapses. He has no idea what to think, he died, revived as an angel, flew to space, and then killed an air beast. He considers laying there longer but knows staying still could be dangerous. He returns to his feet and walks opposite of the way the wind blows. He knows better than to trust nature.

Year 2: Chrono Blessing
Private Lee walks through an abandoned city weary and weak with a low hum coming from his chest followed by a light blue glow. He knows he shouldn’t be alive yet he is. He doesn’t feel right, as if he lost the breath from his lungs yet still breathes. He can see the blue energy pumping through his veins. The chrono core is now the only reason he's alive. He enters the inside of a bar that is remarkably still running.

There is no currency any more so whatever’s left of the survivors either come here for refuge or to drink themselves to death from survivors guilt. Lee is the latter. It’s quiet when he enters the bar; it always is. No one wants to risk alerting those beasts. Dropping a pen feels like a federal crime here. It only reminds everyone they could die at any moment and not even know it.

These words only make Lee feel worse because he saw where it got him. As far as Lee knows, he's already dead. Lee gets up and walks out of the bar. As he walks he can feel the eyes on him. Staring in curiosity, disbelief, and jealousy. Doesn’t matter, none of it matters. He walks through the ruins of the city with seemingly no care for getting caught. He knows those things could tear him to shreds but with the state that this world is in is that even a threat?

To the outside eye it would see the private is walking without aim. But he knows where he is going. He walks out of the city and all the way to an abandoned battle field. He stands over a helmet on a rock before kneeling to it. This was the helmet of the fallen time soldier. Lee had buried his remains. He places his hands together and begins to pray. As he does he starts to sweat.

The heat starts to get to him but he ignores it at first but as he gives a moment of silence it gets hotter and hotter. Lee starts to notice something is wrong when he feels as if he’s boiling alive. While he was squinting he was able to make out the dance of fire on it. It’s a flame beast; great just what he needed. He starts to run but he feels himself get weaker as the heat comes. He tries to force himself to keep moving but the heat is too much. He collapses to the ground feeling it seer his face. He can’t even do anything to stop it. The beast leaps forward looking to incinerate him. Under his heat. He uses the core to jump backward in time to get away from the beast before it could land. The heat is still smoldering and he can’t keep using it over and over again. Without giving it time to charge it would eventually run out of energy and kill him.

He then notices blood dried in front of him. In front of it was a chrono gun that he uses to recharge the core in his chest. He tries to ignore the blood but notices the way it’s spilled isn’t natural. It’s a message from him.

He focuses as the veins in his arms turn blue and the gun glows once more even with its chrono core drained of its energy. He has become a living battery. He then takes aim at the beast and with a single breath fires. The blasts that come from the gun completely shatters its barrel. With the energy coming from an outside source the gun cannot regulate it. The blast of plasma was aimed at just the right angle to shatter the core of the beast. The beast lets out a single powerful roar before exploding in fire.
