a girl missing her heart

shattered and torn

so many times before

stepped on and broken

someone new entered her life

a boy she’d never met and thought she never would

until one day his aunt invited her stay

never knowing where it would lead

she was pieced back together, little by little

but something was missing

a piece of her heart

the boy that was just her friend

she wanted so for him to be more
