Lost Again... - Untitled

This was for my English class where we had to create a poem for the Secret Life Of Bees.

My story's not pretty

I was overrun with everyone's misery

I lived in that sadness a way a goldfish lives in a bowl

When sorrow came along, I froze

Drew up a life load of pain

Like and unpinned grenade, these heavy feelings unleashed

My chest hurt from feeling things

I always thought it would be nice if the world had better human beings

I had a problem: I held all the suffering out there

The world became my sister

I tucked all the heavy feelings into a wall, a wailing wall

Even if the world wasn't fine and rosy, it helped for a while

Until a wall of glass broke in my chest, a wall I didn't know was there

Life had gone straight to hell

Letting misery slide right off of you, ain't easy

I took a rock, I was going home

Every rock out there absorbed human misery

So why couldn't it work for me?

I waited for my lungs to fill, letting it soak up everything I felt

It was my time to die. Goodbye.
