Chapter One: The Lunar Oath

Elara’s heart raced as the first shadow crept across the twin moons. The rare lunar eclipse was beginning—the celestial event that happened once every century—and it was said to awaken ancient powers long forgotten.

Standing on the hill overlooking Lyria, Elara felt a surge of energy pulse through her veins. The crescent birthmark on her wrist glowed faintly, almost like a secret beacon calling her to destiny.

Kael stepped beside her quietly, his gaze never leaving the horizon. “The elders say the eclipse will either bring great fortune or doom to Valoria,” he said softly.

Elara glanced at him and smiled, though doubt lingered in her chest. “Then we make sure it brings fortune. Together.”

Kael’s hand found hers and squeezed gently. Though they came from different worlds—the common village girl and the royal prince—they shared a bond stronger than any barrier.

“We’ll face whatever darkness comes,” Kael promised. “And we’ll do it side by side.”

As the eclipse darkened the sky, Elara whispered her vow, feeling a newfound strength settle in her soul. The journey ahead would be fraught with danger, but for the first time, she felt truly ready.

“Valoria's fate rests on our courage,” she said quietly. “Let’s not fail it.”

Hand in hand, under the shadowed moons, they stepped forward—toward a destiny neither fully understood, but both would fight to protect.
