銀河英雄傳說系列一開始是先有小說，金田一和柯南當時都還沒出現，當時鋼彈系列是主流，動漫的部分是後來才有，動畫之後也超出原本小說範圍。我一直覺得這是很難以模仿的故事架構，大概只有小說家克萊威爾（James Clavell）的亞洲系列小說（真田廣之的《將軍》電視劇和皮爾斯布洛斯南的電視電影《高貴之家》）給我類似的感覺。作者田中芳樹在小說時就把設定做好，後續可以衍生很多合理的故事。
