Venita is given the job of managing Jan’s cyber store from within the comfortable confines of her houseboat.
One evening, they get into an argument, and Venita storms off the boat to get some fresh air despite the bitterly cold winter. She needs to clear her mind and think things through. Does she really want to keep working for this strange woman she has a crush on, who seems to like her in return?
As she is walking, a man accosts her, and Jan—who had been following Venita—shoots him dead. Jan then forces Venita's hands upon the gun to get her prints on it, threatening to blackmail her if she doesn’t join a secret group of vigilantes she wants absolutely no part of.
