It had now been three months since that fateful day when the beautiful doctor had come to her rescue. Three months that seemed like six, but also like just yesterday. Alicia and Alyssa had shared so many late-night talks in bed and done so many things together in such a short time. Her parents treated her as their own and she knew she would miss their evening meals together and hanging out on weekends.
Alicia had come to love Alyssa and as far as Alicia could tell, the feeling was very mutual.
And now they were moving into their new home. Together!
Alicia still missed her uncle, and while she'd love to have him back in her life, she couldn't imagine returning to him and their little apartment any more than she could imagine going out on her own. But still… it would be nice to have him around again. She missed him. But she also knew he would be happy for her if he were still alive. He'd miss her presence for a while if she moved out to live with someone else, but his happiness would outweigh any sadness. She would have been just a phone call, an email, and a short drive away anyway.
Most of the furniture they'd picked out had already been delivered to the new house. Alicia was surprised at just how much input on styles Alyssa wanted from her.
"It's your house," Alicia had insisted.
"It's your house, too," Alyssa had also insisted.
So together they decided on styles, sizes, and colors of various things.
After loading their final box of personal items into Dan's SUV, which was bigger than Alyssa's compact sports car, Rayna hugged her in a warm embrace and said, "I'm gonna miss you, you know."
"Me too, but we'll visit a lot," Alicia said, glancing at her tall, hot, blue-eyed lover.
"We sure will," Alyssa chimed in.
"Remember," said Rayna to Alicia, "we're always here for you. If you get sick of Doctor Blakely's bossiness, just give us a call and you can always run and hide from her here."
Alicia laughed but wasn't so sure that Alyssa found the offer very amusing. "I think I can survive the good doctor's domineering ways. One gets rather used to it in time."
She and Rayna laughed while the tall beauty with the sexy hair carried one last box around them and to the SUV, a serious expression fixed upon her face.
When all was said and done, Rayna hugged them both one last time, and then Dan drove them to their new house. It was only about a six-minute drive, so it would be simple enough for them to visit either on foot or by bike if they wanted to.
Up in the front seat next to her father, Alyssa said, "Not so sure I like being so close to you guys."
"Why?" her dad asked curiously.
"You never know how often this one," she said, motioning toward the back seat, "will want to pop in on you."
"Nothing wrong with that. That's what we're here for, right, kiddo?"
Alicia laughed at the thought of being called 'kiddo' at her age. "Right, but I'll be sure to call first so I don't visit at an inconvenient time."
"It shouldn't be inconvenient at all."
"If I just want to say hi or I get nervous about being alone, I'll probably see you."
"Good idea, kiddo, good idea."
Alyssa said nothing as she stared out the window.
They pulled up and unloaded the vehicle. Alicia didn't understand why Alyssa's mood seemed to be souring as it was. She'd just purchased a beautiful new home. What was the problem? Life was good. She should be happy, shouldn't she?
"You ok?" she asked her when her father stepped out of the house to grab another box.
"Yeah," she said with a smile. "We'll talk soon."
But the iciness in her eyes said she was anything but fine. While the rest of the boxes were hauled in, Alicia racked her brains trying to figure out what it was she might have said to set Alyssa off but was unable to come up with anything logical. Maybe she was simply PMSing, although it seemed that she had finished her period last week, right around the same time she had.
"Ok, girls," said Dan as he was about to leave, "enjoy your new turf." He threw an arm around both of them and then left, saying something about having to hurry home to comfort his wife, who was no doubt already experiencing Empty Nest Syndrome.
Alyssa laughed and then she shut the beautiful door with the stained glass windows flanking it. She turned to face Alicia and then her smile dropped so far that Alicia almost found it hard to believe it had existed just a second ago. "Now," she said sternly, "come with me."
Alicia followed her over to the new cobalt blue sofa. "What'd I do?"
Once seated, Alyssa said, "You are committed to me now, right?"
"Of course," Alicia confirmed with a nod.
"And I'm committed to you."
Alicia nodded again.
"That means we rely on one another for support."
"Well, no kidding, silly."
"Shh-shh-shh," Alyssa said firmly. "Remember that master-slave thing we discussed?"
"Yeah, but I still don't—"
Alyssa hushed her again. "The point is you can't be running to everyone else when the shit hits the fan and I'm not here to dry your tears."
Alicia blinked, stunned by what she was hearing. "I don't get it. I can't…"
"Visiting my parents is fine every now and then, but you've got to learn to deal with things on your own when I'm at work and remember that I won't be gone forever."
"I know that. I won't be bugging them regularly if that's what you're worried about, even though they said they wouldn't mind."
"Hmm," Alyssa said doubtfully, "they do have things to do and they do have their own lives, retired or not."
Alicia found it hard to believe that they would lie to her and tell her to come around anytime if they really didn't want her to, but then again, Alyssa would certainly know her own parents better than she did.
"I won't burden them. I promise."
"It's not just that, Alicia, but remember our agreement, ok? I know you're new to this dominance and control thing, but you gotta remember, it's just a game and I would never ever even think of doing anything that would harm you or jeopardize your emotional state of mind, ok?"
Alicia said nothing, not sure if there was more to it that Alyssa wasn't telling her, or if she was just too stupid – perhaps inexperienced – to pick up on by herself.
"You gotta trust me now, ok?"
Alicia nodded again, just as confused as she was a few minutes ago. Why wouldn't she trust her? She'd saved her life. She'd given her a home. She'd made sure she had food in her stomach. She'd gotten her medical needs taken care of.
What was there not to trust?
Life went on and she and Alyssa fell into a comfortable routine. Alicia would come running into her arms like a puppy eager to see its master when she returned from the office after a long day of seeing patients, some she genuinely cared for, others she wished she could slap upside the head and refer to someone else.
"Alyssaaaaahhhh!" Alicia exclaimed as she happily flew into her arms before she could get the door shut. God, she loved that.
"Hey, you." Then she sniffed the air. "Smells good in here."
"I made us one of the few things I can cook well enough – spaghetti."
"Smells delicious," the doctor said with that sexy smile that always won Alicia over both in and out of bed. "When do we eat?"
"Right now."
Alyssa removed her white medical coat, which she used as a light jacket. Although it was now February, there was still a chill in the air during the early and late parts of the day.
Alyssa tossed her coat and handbag aside and went to use the bathroom. When she returned, her fine little lady was placing the dishes on the table. They sat down at the sparkling new glass table under the lovely dining room light and began to eat.
"Alicia, this is great," Alyssa said as she devoured the food hungrily. She hadn't realized just how truly hungry she was until she dove into the perfectly cooked spaghetti that was lightly sprinkled with Parmesan cheese.
"I'm glad you like it," she said.
While the doctor enjoyed her food, her mind churned. How soon should she break Alicia into what she had in mind, and what was the best way to go about doing it? This was new to her as well. All she knew was that just like a serial killer had the uncontrollable urge to kill, she had the uncontrollable urge to dominate. Really dominate, and that included their time out of bed as well as in it. She was just afraid to do too much too fast. Up until now, however, their sex life had been pretty typical of any lesbian couple, and while she enjoyed it immensely – way more so than she thought she ever would, and way more so than with any guy she'd ever been with – she needed something more. She wanted something unique, something she could surprise both herself and Alicia with every time they got together, and that would carry over into their non-sexual moments as well.
"Remember what we talked about last night?"
Alicia nodded. "You want to make a slave of me in a good and fun way. It's just a game, you won't hurt me, and if you do invoke a little pain and it gets to be too much, I can always say so. The point is to just have fun, right?"
Alyssa nodded, then picked up her water glass. "Yes, but the key is trust. If you feel you can't trust me, then the game will be harder to play."
"Why is that?"
Alyssa set her glass down and said, "Why don't we just start playing our little game tonight and you'll see what I mean. Just trust me, Alicia. You're in good hands."
