Twenty-three-year-old Shania McCarthy gets a job promotion that Maureen, her greedy, evil coworker, believes should have been hers. Maureen enlists her uncle, a psychiatrist named Dr. Jonas Hoffritz, to have Shania committed to the mental hospital he runs in Southern California. Trapped inside with no escape as others plot against her, Shania falls for her therapist, Lauren Cohen, who falls for her in return. Together, they escape after much of the hospital is destroyed by an earthquake.
Just when the two think they’re home free, they realize someone out for revenge has tracked them down on the run!
