-Norse Mythology: The Story of Loki-
In the Scandinavian Palace, Odin and Frigga were sitting while the people were happy, honoring Thor. Suddenly, Loki appeared at the door. Loki was a woman, with two braided brown hair and red eyes, wearing a black crop top, black skirt, and black fishnet stockings. Loki smiled mischievously.
In a playful tone, Loki said:
“Wow wow, the King and Queen always impress the people, how noble! How ironic!”
Odin immediately got up from his throne, his voice authoritative and serious, frowning at Loki. Odin had not invited Loki because Loki was, in a way, the “jester” of society and a sociopath. Loki always brought chaos to family members, and Odin did not particularly like him; they often argued. When Loki and Thor were children, Odin and Frigga had elevated Thor more, helping him more because Thor was more compliant, while Loki was mischievous and different from society.
As a result, Loki was often blamed and left alone by society, which caused internal loneliness and suffering. Loki could not form deep emotional bonds and hid this through mischief and mockery. The stifling love from his family weighed heavily on his dark, forged soul; he constantly wanted a family that would truly touch his essence. Loki always hated his family and even Odin, never believing that Odin loved him. Loki had always been the “devil of the family.” Even Frigga had called Loki “devil.” Over time, Loki became more devilish and mischievous. Odin, therefore, was annoyed by Loki.
Odin spoke in an authoritative, rule-focused voice:
“My child, what are you doing here? I didn’t even invite you.”
Loki squinted, smiling mischievously and darkly, spreading her arms dramatically:
“Ahhh father, what you say truly hurts, don’t you give any value to your daughter? Where is the ‘simple greeting’?”
Odin, frowning with authority:
“Look, you are playing games with me again! How dare you mock me, I am Odin! You must respect me! Women should behave properly.”
Loki paused, then widened her smile, looking devilish and dark, whispering in a low velvet tone:
“Women should behave properly? How ironic, a father trapped in his own chains, obsessed with ethics, always following what he thinks is right, a ‘perfect’ father figure!”
Thor looked at Loki accusingly:
“You must respect us, Loki.”
Frigga, protective and worried, said:
“We have given you love for years, now you must give us love and respect!”
Loki smiled darkly as shadows swirled around her two brown braids. She briefly smiled hypnotically, and her antagonist mind awakened:
“How nice, everyone blames me because of their own chains and fears. I have always been the ‘devil’ in this family, right? You’re right, mother, I am a devil. Isn’t it wonderful to have a devil daughter?”
Loki laughed wickedly, took out her staff, whispered from it, and released shadows, disturbing everyone around. People scattered; Thor fell to the ground. Odin, holding his staff, protected Frigga, casting magic. Loki smiled devilishly and walked slowly, shadows following her. In a melodic, dark voice, she said:
“How sweet, your family! At first, you were happy, now your happiness is gone. I exposed your masks and revealed your true faces. Your ‘love’ is false, isn’t it? While I was gone, you hid your true selves under responsibility and appearances. You forgot you are still in a cage. I hate whispers, gossipers, and hypocrites, but most of all, liars who cannot face their own mirrors!”
Loki grabbed Odin by the throat with her magic staff. Odin’s breath became irregular. Thor, on the ground, looked shocked, then hurriedly jumped at Loki to stop her. Loki blocked Thor’s strikes. Odin shouted in an authoritative voice:
“ENOUGH!”
With his great power, Odin seized Loki and yelled angrily:
“If I see you step into Asgard again, I will harm you. You are too disgraceful to be my child. I wish your mother had never given birth to you!”
Loki looked darkly, with suppressed sadness in her eyes, and replied:
“Then it would have been better if you hadn’t given birth to me. How funny it is to make a fuss because your child turned out to be a devil!”
Odin slapped Loki; her hair fell into her eyes, shadows cascading around. Loki smiled mischievously, her eyes darkening, winking at Odin with a seductive tone:
“Mhm, I liked that!”
Odin, disgusted, threw Loki out the door. Loki remained outside.
