The bathroom mirror still bore their twin handprints in blood.

She pressed her palm to the glass. "What do I do now?"

Her reflection smiled with Evelyn’s lips. "Finish what we started."

Scene 2: The Inheritance

The lawyer droned on about "estates" and "next of kin."

Then: "Per her instructions, you’ll find this in her closet."

The wooden box smelled of gun oil and lavender. Inside:

Mira tested the blade against her thumb.

A bead of blood welled.

"Welcome home," whispered the walls.

Scene 3: The Last Lullaby

The bathwater steamed.
