As a child in Massachusetts, Rosemary utilizes her special ability of being able to communicate through photographs containing her favorite celebrities. Unbeknownst to her at the time, separate entities enter these photos which become her friends for the next ten years during a turbulent childhood. 

Upon turning twenty, she destroys the first set of photos and moves on to a life in the southwest. Before doing this, she finds “friendship” within a second group of celebrity photos, also inhabited by other spirits. 

She returns to New England a few years later only to end up in a car accident and stricken with amnesia. Parts of her past are now obscured. Particularly the photos she once confided in. 

Now twenty-six and sporting an angry temper, Rosemary meets guard/detective Kay Hawkins and her best friend Melanie. 

As Rosemary and Kay fall in love and share their ups and downs, she discovers Kay and Melanie’s true identity, for they are two of the photos come to life in the form of human beings!​​​​​​​
