故事背景發生在哈利波特與佛地魔大戰後的30年（2028年），麻瓜與巫師相處十分和諧，但對爆竹的偏見一直存在，一些父母甚至會把自己的爆竹孩子送到麻瓜世界。一個極端組織－Firecrack（鞭炮會），以屠殺爆竹為目標，認為要沒有魔力的人必須要永久離開魔法世界。


香港大學生游潁慈因要到英國交流，所以到了離境大堂，誰不知出發之前被一名神秘老婦人撞跌，出境後就神奇的來到了「九又四分之三號客運大樓」。


目睹「鞭炮會」的暴行後，卻被誤認為新生帶往霍格華茲，一場魔法世界的大戰即將爆發。
