Chapter One
Wings and the Giant
Whitney was a normal girl. She had been in foster care since her parents died in a hurricane when she was one year old. She hated not knowing her history. She did have a nice family. She had a sister. There had been extra post lately from a place called Stellerns. Whitney thinks Stellerns is a school. She is correct. A school for fairies. She is one. She had been reading the envelopes but could not open them. They were addressed to:
Whitney Bailey-Paige
339 Butternut drive
London, England
Second bedroom to the right
The envelopes always had pictures of wings on them. I do not even know why. One day today I shall bring you in but please do not yell. It is very obnoxious.
“What the!” Whitney yelled. A little pixie was flying with a letter. She gave it to Whitney. She could finally open it. It said:
Dear Whitney,
You have been excepted to the school for fairies: Stellerns. The pixie that has successfully brought you your letter this time, is named Fawna. She is yours. Every fairy at this school has a helper-pixie. Here attached is a list of supplies and how to get to the school.
Thank you for your time,
Morona Lise
Morona Lise: Headmistress
“I..I...I..I’M A FAIRY!!!!!!!!” Whitney yelled. “Oh my. I did not know. How. Someone must not have told you some things!”
“Whitney dear,” her mom said. “It is alright. You need to go to this school. You would have a blast and make many friends.”
“I know I will miss you,” Her sister Avery said. “But it is okay. You must go.”
“Oh,” Whitney said. “Alright. I’ll go. I did want to but since you said it is ok. I will go pack. And Avery. I will miss you too.”
Whitney then the next day went off with Fawna too the school. The directions were very complicated. Most likely so no one could find where she was going. There was a secret room in an alleyway. It had a lot of people with wings. And there w w w w was a a a a a a a a giant! He was signing in the children. In the center of the room there was a humongous pink flower. It was a dimly lit room. There were suitcases of all shapes and sizes. It was a nicely sized room. It had many different light fixtures with….wait what are those. Oh lightning bugs. It was a welcoming room. A pretty nice first impression.
There was a girl about her size in the corner of the room. She was throwing a ball up and catching it. She had brown hair and blue eyes, and was quite pretty.
The backpack next to the girl stated her name Kailey. Kailey is a pretty name, Whitney thought. Whitney went to say hi. She said, “Hello. My name is Whitney. Please call me Winnie. I just came up with that!”
“I am Kailey,” she replied. “ You can call me K.K. “
“Do you know anyone?” asked Whitney.
“Ya. A girl came up to me but she was mean. I saw her yell at other kids.”
“Oh. Well, do you wanna be my friend?”
“Of course! You are so kind!” exclaimed K.K. “ Have you met him? He is very nice. I know he is a giant...but looks can be deceiving.”
“No. As you can see I am still carrying my trunk.”
“Go on. He is giving out your minor supplies. Your wand, uniform, and revealing your wings for you. There was a long line so… Mine aren’t revealed.”
“Come on. Lets see yours.” And together they walked off and signed in Winnie then got her supplies so they could, reveal their wings. Winnie’s wand had a tulip in a light blue shade on the end, and the wood was of a Selpie tree. A pink and orange branch. (Selpies are magical fairy trees that produce many-colored wood). Just then Fawna zoomed toward her. It was quite funny. She said she had lost Winnie. They then decided to “let her off the hook”. When it was K.K’s turn her wings sprouted. They were a purple-green mix all over. Purple in some places, green in others. Kelly green to be exact.
Most peculiarly the only one ever with rainbow wings ever was her and one other person. She did not recognize the name Macileene Korli Balti. Peculiar.
