“You hungry?” I asked Kitty.
”I can eat.” She shrugged.
”come on we are going out.” I said.
”What if he finds me?” She asked. I put her chin in my hand.
”You think he could take me out baby? You don’t trust me?” I asked softly.
“Let me just get dressed.” She said.
”come on I like how you look right now. Just roll with me ma.” I said and she nodded.
We were out to eat and I was going in on the waitress. She saw me sitting here with shorty and did everything but acknowledge her. Athena has been with me for a few weeks and she hasn’t said much since her abortion. Her pretty face was healing but she still had some marks on her. While this bitch was talking I noticed shorty had her head down.
”Nahh pick your head up don’t let this bitch pull you off your square ma.” I snapped. I don’t even know who I was looking at. When I met shorty she was confident and had the world’s attention. Now I was looking at her and she was just a shell. Like even now she looked like she wanted to cry by how I snapped at her. Shit had me feeling bad. I told the bitch to get me a new waitress.
”my bad ma. I ain’t mean to snap at you.” I said going to grab her hand but she put it in her lap.
”Look at me is this why you brought me out to this full ass restaurant to embarrass me? To humiliate me. I get the fuckin point. I get this shit is on me. You don’t have to rub it in.” She said not even looking at me. I went to say something but she got up.
“I’m leaving. You can stay and feed your ego but I’m not doing this shit.” She said and stormed off. I threw down just enough to pay for our drinks and ran after her. She was fast but I was faster i caught up to her and blocked her way from moving. I wanted to yoke her ass up but went against it.
”I just wanted you to get out the house. You been stuck in the house like a prisoner just existing. I just wanna help you go back to the woman I fell for.” I said and the way she looked at me that was the wrong thing.
”I’ll never be her again. Look at me he ruined me. I’m damaged goods. Ain’t nobody gonna want me now that he hurt me.” She cried out. Shit made me want to go and kill his ass now. Kitty was far from damaged her ass was hurt and he stole her light but I was making it my mission to bring it back.
“Kitty I hate you even think that. He fucked up I get it. You’re not close to being ruined.” I said and she walked away.” Did I chase her? Damn right I did. I walked me 15 miles away from my car.
