I decided to make breakfast for all of us, I want to show them how thankful I am for their understanding. And i won't lie, I'm eager to know how they would speak to me this early morning. Are they going to stay quiet or are they going to create small talks with me. I know they're no longer angry with me or 'a little bit mad' like what Alia said yesterday but it seems like she and Nathan had a misunderstanding last night and I want that solved this morning. So everything is just like making up with each other. I want us to go back to how things were. I got calls from Mother today and I make a mental note to return her call immediately after breakfast. I began setting the table. I prepared Takihi just like how mum does it, but of course, mom's Takihi is the best. While cleaning the area where I messed up while cooking, Alia comes downstairs looking all freshened up ready for work and to say she looks good it's an understatement, she looks gorgeous, she's dressed in a cream colored sweater gown that hugs her curves and of course a color that suits her skin and then she puts on a dark brown long colored blazer to match. The man I caught her with definitely has something to do with her dressing,I mean Alia doesn't put so much effort in dressing, she even has a bit of make-up, my God!, She's hooked for real.

" You look gorgeous Allie, you're a beautiful woman" I cradle her face in my hands and she pulls me for a hug. Releasing her I told her I made Takihi for breakfast and she was so eager to eat. When she tasted it, she complimented me non stop saying it tasted exactly like mother's Takihi and I don't know if she was actually serious about it but my heart swelled in pride. On a second thought
" Nathan isn't up yet?" I asked carefully while Allie is busy digging into her Takihi, her face making an annoyed expression but she quickly concealed it with a blank nonchalant expression. And I know I have to tread carefully
"Are you okay?" I asked concerningly, I want to hear from her own side of the story. Dropping her spoon she looked up at me seeming skeptical.
" Naddie, please be honest with me" she said pausing and waiting for a confirmation
"Sure I will..what is it?"
"I'm seeing my boss....and he's ten years older than I am" she said pausing again looking unsure as to whether to continue

"Aren't you angry or something?" She said searching my face for any kind of emotion that may make her think I'm lying to her but of course I'm not. Smiling and reaching for her fingers across the table
"I'm not angry Allie, I'm happy for you, except....is he married?" I ask her hoping I'll get a no but unfortunately the silence it's enough
"Oh come on Allie..what the hell is wrong with you?" I said getting up aggressively and heading for the counter for some water
" I swear I didn't know he was, until last week and I was so furious with him, I didn't even speak to him for three days..I-I was heartbroken....I didn't know, I swear it" she said looking at me pleadingly.
"Allie three days isn't enough, you should have gone a whole week, so he'll get the message" I said raising my voice at her because I know where this whole thing is going to end, she is at the losing end. "For God sakes can't you see that you're too gorgeous to be just 'a side chick'. This man will end up choosing his wife and not you, I've never known you to be a fool so don't act like one" And she raised her voice back at me
" I'm not a fool okay!, Dante loves me, I know it and most importantly I can feel it. He hates his wife's guts and he doesn't love her, he loves me OKAY!! During those three days I didn't talk to him I almost died, and you want me to go a whole week, I'd die before-"
"You won't die Allie, trust me you won't. So.......since you said he hates his wife so much, is he intending to divorce his wife for you? Because I won't sit here and watch you waste your beautiful life with a married man" After a small pause filled with sniffling from Alia, I spoke up. "I need an answer.....ALIA!!...My God! are you stupid?, He's never going to be yours don't you see it? Open your fucking eyes-"
"STOP SWEARING AND YELLING OKAY!!.. At least I have a man and you don't".
"Alia" I stared at her in unbelief. How could she say that? I just want what's best for her, it's that a crime? before I knew it tears came trickling down my cheeks, wiping those tears out, facing her completely. I saw a flash of guilty emotion on her face but within a second her face went blank and she was already up, holding her bag and heading for the door slowly maybe waiting for me to say something
"I may not have a man, but I know my worth and I'm not stupid like you" I said, tying my robe properly and heading upstairs and when I reach the head of the stairs I look up and see Nathan looking at me with a sullen expression, like he feels sorry for me, but I don't want pity.
"I made Takihi...it's there on the dining, it might be a little bit cold though" trying to get past him, he blocked my way, faintly holding my wrist
"Nadine....I heard" he said and I looked at everywhere but not him, this is too much
"I'm sorry on her behalf, I know she feels guilty-"
"She doesn't, she doesn't care about anything or anyone, all she cares about is herself, and that is my problem with her, she doesn't listen"
"We both know that Alia is not like that, you're saying this because you're angry" massaging each side of my head with my fingers I spoke up
"Whatever... I'm in my room" I said, heading for my room. I decided to call mom. Getting comfortable on my bed I dialed her number
"Good morning mum" I said, immediately the call connected
"Morning, my baby how are you doing?". She said sounding excited which got me curious
"I'm fine mum, what's got you excited this morning?" I ask curiously
"I don't know really, guess I woke up from the right side of the bed today"
"What about Dad?"
"He went for a meeting, I think it's something about one of our shops in Avatele"
"Okay mum, I saw your missed call so I called back...or are you busy" I said cause I heard some noise in the background
"No no, I'm not busy, I got a package yesterday so, I'm taking it to the store...it's quite heavy though" she said breathing heavily
"Mum, you know you're not supposed to be lifting heavy things, it's not good for you" I said already starting to worry.
"I know sweetie but it's important I do, you know how your father is, he won't help me" she complained
"You know that's not true.... anyways you called"
"Yeah...Nadine, you know you can tell me anything right?"
"Yes mum, I know"
"Tell me the truth, are you okay?"
"I'm fine mum..I swear I am"
"I don't believe you, what happened?"

"Alright, fine. It's been a long time since we had a serious talk. You usually tell me things but now it's different, but fine, I won't force you"
"Okay, fine....I attended the wedding" I paused waiting to hear what she would say, bit she didn't say a word so I continued
"And I met them and we spoke..and I decided to head home but on my way... I-I caught Alia making out with a man and I called her name or maybe I yelled her name because they were in public and anyone could see them" I stopped, sniffling a little, I continued
" And then this morning, I spoke with her and I found out, she's been fooling around with her boss...and he's married mum! And I tried talking some sense into her but she wouldn't listen and then she what she said next hurt me so bad" I sobbed quietly
"Naddie..my angel, what did she say?"
"She said that she has a man and I don't.... why would she say such thing mum? I'm only telling her the truth, and I thank God she wasn't close to me at that time cause I would have done what I'm not supposed to do"
"Nadine, I know it's not easy, I'll talk to Alia, that was rude of her, don't think too much about it okay? Everybody's time to get married is different, see, I married your dad at twenty five and-"
"Mom, yours is better, I'm twenty seven and I'm turning twenty eight in the next two months. Whenever I visit I always get stared at, like I'm some alien visiting, it's annoying"
"Listen, don't let anyone make you feel uncomfortable, let me tell you something, do you remember your friend Agatha that lived across our street back then?"
"Yes mum, i know her...what happened?"
"She's not married and guess what? She's thirty three, her parents has tried many times to marry her off but she never liked any man that came for her, I'm telling you this because you're still young and I pray for you everyday and I know everything will fall into place"
"Alright then... I guess I shouldn't be so worried" I said scratching my neck "mum, it seems like your prayers actually worked because I have a date this Friday" I said giggling
"Oh my dear! I'm so happy for you, so.. what's his name?"
"He's name is Josh and he was my lecturer back then at College"
"Alright Nadine, I'll keep on praying. The last thing I want for you is to be desperate, I want you to calm down okay? Don't listen to whatever these women say, they are no better....do you get me?"
"Yes mum...I understand"
"Good...and one more thing, I don't know how to tell you this.... but you need Jesus, trust me, I'm your mother and I won't lie to you. I don't know if you're still in your confused phase..you know since the time you went off to college,you changed,but that's by the way. You really need to renew your relationship with him, maybe things will get better when you do that" she said exhaling loudly like she got off some burden off her chest and I won't lie though she's right but..I don't know really.

For the past few days, the date with Josh has been on my mind. And today is Thursday making the Date tomorrow. I told Nathan and he was teasing me all day, that I even started regretting I told him. Carina came visiting and the three of us went shopping for clothes and take-outs that we would eat tonight because none of us felt like cooking. Since the argument I had with Alia, she never came back to the house, and I called her a few times but it keeps going to voicemail. I complained to Nathan but he said I shouldn't worry that wherever she is, she is fine. But still, I can't help but worry, I mean it's been three days now, no calls no texts, I guess she's fine wherever she is then. I shopped for a lot of clothes which of course Carina helped in choosing them, she has good taste when it comes to clothes, I had to ask what she does for a living and she said that apart from working in her brother's company, she is a fashion designer and she's well known in Italy, she has a big fashion house a 'Haute Couture' like she said, and other branches in different locations in Italy, and I wonder how my brother met her because my brother is an architect and.. anyways whatever, i could ask them anytime, I feel nervous actually because.. I mean it's been a long time since I went on a date and now I'm going on a date with JOSH!

Reaching home, we hadn't even stayed up to an hour before the doorbell rang and my mind immediately went to Alia, so I rushed to the door only to find a delivery guy with a package and then I asked Nathan and Carina if they ordered anything but they said they didn't, I took the package and signed, and then I fiddled with it and got it open, only to find a gorgeous gold colored sequins gown I was shocked to my bone marrow ,Carina gasped in surprise and Nathan went "That's a dominant man right there, don't fuck this up" of course I wouldn't, how did he manage to know my size? It's been years and then I saw a card that read '7 pm tomorrow see you tomorrow, gorgeous' and then by the right bottom corner he wrote 'Josh', someone should hold me because I'm already falling. Anyways I still tried out the black strapped dress and my ELFARJRSAN gold strappy heels to match, that was after trying out the gold sequins dress obviously, and the gown was perfect, it hugged all my curves and it was a strapless gown too, with a slit that ran along up to my mid thigh, not showing much skin, it was just perfect!! and Nathan and Carina said I was drop-dead gorgeous hot in the gown but also the black gown was beautiful too but this right here is PERFECT!! I couldn't stop smiling even though my cheeks hurt, it's too good to be true. Nathan being Nathan told me to call him if anything goes wrong or if worse text him and Carina said if anything goes wrong that I can't text a text I should send a safe emoji. Well, I won't argue with them, I mean it's been a long time since I saw Josh so, I can't really say anything now but I know they are worrying for nothing. I love the fact that Carina cares too, she's a nice person. I'm really happy for my brother, but now I'm more happier for myself.
