Today was a Friday evening-the last teaching day of the week for elementary teachers. The weekend mood was in the air for the teachers, who had time for themselves on Saturday and Sunday to do as they pleased.
The good atmosphere was further elevated by another piece of good news-Teacher Xue Róu had returned to school. I hadn't noticed that one month had long passed, time seemed to be going by on a rapid pace. She was walking and didn't seem to have any complications. Gathered in the staff room, each of the teachers present congratulated her upon her recovery.
"I was given a scare, if you hadn't left Huangshan to recover, I would have visited and bought some Ginseng for you. Don't worry though, I will give it to you in person, healing doesn't mean you don't need strength," Teacher Měi Lín said besides Xue Róu.
"Thank you Lín, I am really fine now thanks to my mother's medical skills, she used Chinese medicine and also the hospital staff were quick with their service which aided my quick recovery," Xue Róu said with a simple smile.
"That's good, avoid walking at night, why don't you come and live in the school staff quarters though? " Teacher Jun Cai inquired.
"It's alright, I would have loved to but the staff quarters for female teachers are limited, the only available ones are still under construction," Xue Róu stated.
"Oh, I had forgotten about that. I remember you used to stay in one of the units before you left though?" Jun Cai replied.
"The house I am staying in outside school is nice, plus, teacher Kasi is new in china, it was a good idea for me to move out instead. Any way, thank you all for stepping in for me while I was away," Xue Róu said, smiling at us.
Taking in her words, I registered that Xue Róu was staying in the quarter I was now in. I slightly blamed myself for the inconvenience I caused, I would have to talk to Xue Róu after and see if she could change back. I was new in china, however, I wasn't blind or naive.
"Oh, It's not a big issue, we weren't burdened by the classes, in fact, if you spent some time recuperating, we would have pushed on," Jun Cai replied.
"Anyway, it's good that you are back, " Měi Lín stated.
Small talk was exchanged and some new facts unknown to Teacher Xuě Róu like Junyan's arrival, the sport's event etc were exposed along the lines.
Seeing as it was getting dark outside, good-byes were exchanged and the teachers dispersed. I quietly followed behind Teacher Xuě Róu after she exited the staff room.
"Teacher Xuě, a word please," I said.

"Teacher Kasi,"
"Well, I just wanted to inform you that I have no problem staying outside," I said.
"Ah! No need, just as I said, the outside house is good," Xuě Róu replied.
"But, it's not good to stay outside given your circumstance, you might have recovered but who knows if long walks could lead to a bigger problem?" I reasoned.
"No need to be worried, the ditch was just a negligent act and it was covered up already, compensation was also paid. I am also fully recovered," Xuě Róu replied.
"I understand, but I will not rest assured, please think about changing houses with me and get back to me soon," I replied.
"Alright, if it doesn't inconvenience you, I will do as you please, however, my earlier statements weren't a complaint Teacher Kasi," Xuě Róu slightly smiled and said.
"I understand, go on then before it gets dark, " I nodded at her words and stated. Xuě Róu acknowledged my request and turned back to head in the original direction she was formally heading.
I turned in a different direction and headed to my quarters. Inside the house, I made myself a cup of tea and removed my overcoat, remaining in a woolen sweater and jeans. The weather was getting colder and winter was approaching.
I didn't like winter, it was cold and almost soulless outside, I liked the idea of making a snow man though, I thought it was cute but I hated touching the snow at the same time.
I slowly sipped on my tea and sat on the small couch in the middle of the room facing the television. I turned the television on and a news channel came to view- warning people about the changing weather, I changed the station to a funny show that I was now slightly addicted to called "Games go Games!".
Just as the name of the show stated, the program was centred around playing different games, it was addictive and most people who participated in it were competitive. Some Celebrities participated but they weren't given any special treatment, seeing some of them break out of character on screen was really entertaining.
Tonight, the usual games host came into view and revealed that for this game, any income earned would be donated to charity and then revealed the guests. This time, it seemed that there were some important people, although I didn't know them as I wasn't a local, hearing the founder of so and so company, top actress etc showed that tonight's show had some big names.
"Finally, let's welcome a special appearance. From acting and winning the movie King award,singing, snow boarding, calligraphy, Martial arts, studies...oh...I am so excited!I can't finish his accomplishments and he is only 24 years! Jun Jie!" The Tv host introduced.
Although others had overwhelming accomplishments, this person really stood up. At his young age? Achieving such success? The guests on the show seemed excited at the mention of his name and some women on the show quickly organized their hair and sat upright eagerly watching the entrance.
A tall, extremely handsome man with slender legs and brown hair appeared on screen. He was really a looker, sharp jawline, chiseled face and a deep set of sharp eyes. Suddenly, an image of a certain someone's eyes immediately appeared in my mind. I immediately shook my head, this was bad, I had let Tang Wei close, he would often call me to ask about Junyan's performance, activities and his life at school. This led me not to forget him even if I wanted to!
Looking at the vibrant young man on the scream who was now brightly smiling with curved eyes, Tang Wei's face suddenly couldn't be traced on such a cute face. I slowly relaxed and continued watching the show.
"Wow... You really look more handsome in person! Your fans weren't wrong to call you porcelain! However, on this show, you aren't porcelain Jie, I won't show you mercy or favoritism," The Tv host said with a playfully evil smile and glint in his eyes.
"I am ready for whatever challenges you have for me," Jie said with a smile.
"I can't bare it! How can you treat little Jie like this! Give me his hardships! This old woman will handle them! " One of the guest, who was introduced as a movie queen Lichen, said.
"Ah...look at this, beauty has really blinded you! What happened to the strong spirit of competitiveness that you had at the beginning of the show!" The Tv host pointed at her and accused.
"Thank you sister Lichen," Jie said with a polite bow and smile stunning the actress more.
"Look at this! Shameless! Alright. Let the games begin! Hmph," The Tv host said with a playful attitude causing laughter to break out among the guests as he stepped on the platform to instruct the beginning of the games.
When the games started, Jun Jie's brilliance was on display, be it tag and pull, chess, spelling bees, etc. He wasn't over the top but by just standing there, he attracted attention. Some people, were just born to stand out. This reminded me of Tang Wei once again, be it standing, speaking, he always attracted attention of people around.
When the games came to an end, the blue team, that Jun jie and movie queen Lichen were part of won. The Tv host grumbled at their victory but non the less gave them small gifts of stuffed toys and the program ended with a bow from the guests and Tv host.
I switched off the TV and went to take a shower, I had to remove my twists this weekend- a thought came to mind as I showered.
