57Please respect copyright.PENANAffzi3feq1QA brief update of our friends back on Earth...
Arne grinned gleefully as she charged into another tank. She ripped open its hood and pulled the men inside it out, tossing them aside as they looked at her in horror. Then she proceeded to completely demolish it until the tank was crushed beyond repair.
She was amidst a big war among the humans. She'd happened to sense it going on in one of the humans' middle countries, so she stepped in to show them why their war was pointless. First was the fleet in the ocean she encountered; now, an army on the ground.
I'm surprised there's a war going on despite what happened last year, Trevor stated telepathically. He was somewhere rebuilding, but this was more Arne's speed. Who's fighting?
Hm. I'm not sure. They all look the same to me: humans in fragile toys and slow jets. Though they did fire a fast beam of energy at me from one of their ships before I destroyed it. I heard them screaming something about a rail gun as many fled. I felt it just a little.
Arne was hit with another missile. She could've ended them all at once by moving the ground, but she was trying to avoid killing them. She only wanted to humiliate their inefficient armies.
Something good came from it: they seem to only be targeting you now. You're singlehandedly stopping the war. Although the humans are split between fearing and revering us, Naomi added. As far as Arne knew, she was trying to help Wren balance the ecosystem. While Wren dealt with storms, Naomi helped cold surges and blizzards build to cool the unnaturally hot atmosphere to where it was supposed to be for the time of year.
Let them have their opinions. It doesn't affect us regardless. I only wish they'd have something more challenging to fight against, Arne said as she leaped into the air and landed on a passing jet.

Cinder – Forgeton – Sector 04 – Bath House
My consciousness slowly came to. I was in a white space. Tymon, Avarice, and Za'Fia were there. They turned as they saw me moving.
"You're awake," I heard Viraa's voice from beside me. When I turned, I saw that she was in her pneumarian form.
"Wait, are we in my head?"
"We are," she replied. "You are in a coma. One that I forced you into to limit the amount of energy your body expends. You see, you are in critical condition out there. Your wound's severity would only be nonfatal for a pneumarian or zaster klevonian. Even Michael could not heal a wound from a black hole."
"You're currently in Sector 04 in one of its private bathhouses. For the past hour, they've been using its healing waters and droplets to try to stabilize you, but nothing's working," Tymon stated solemnly. Based on the look in his eyes, I could tell things wouldn't end well for me.
"Are you two okay?" I asked him and Za'Fia. Za'Fia looked fine, but Tymon still looked a little worse for wear.
"Yeah. Tymon was healed with some droplets, but he's still banged up a bit. Looks like they can't heal everything," Za'Fia responded.
"Why not have Michael fully heal you?" I asked him.
"He and I agreed he needed to focus his energy on healing you, not wasting it on me," Tymon said, somehow leaning on the white space. "Then he went to try to help anyone else he could."
"What about Fulvia? Did he heal her?"
"As you know, Michael's healing abilities become less effective the more powerful someone is. That's why it takes more energy to heal anyone on the team than it does say a human," Viraa stated. "You've drained nearly all of your energy, so healing you would have been fine, but Fulvia had already recovered some of hers through droplets. Therefore, much to his frustration, the effectiveness of his healing was lower than that of the droplets. He simply does not have the reserves to heal most here, unfortunately."
"He couldn't help her," Za'Fia stated clearly. "She's under the same treatment you are. She should recover in 12 hours. Cinder is still recovering, too, but he's still able to move around. Apparently, the parts of him that were pulled into the black hole are going to take a while to recover from, since his body had to replenish the lost energy that was sucked into oblivion along with the severed parts. Luna woke, though. She asked us to keep the information to ourselves so no one knows the Ryfa Pakt is temporarily out of commission."
"And Aeric? After I passed out..."
"He did not return," Viraa assured me, easing my heart. "Each General was instructed to keep Fulvia's state confidential and are dealing with the press. The people are trying to figure out why their nation was suddenly attacked. Why many families lost loved ones today... Luckily, the civilians had already been evacuated by the time Aeric arrived and mentioned someone invading his home, so they are unaware of things for the time being."
"But they're all panicking in each sector in fear of it happening to them now," Tymon added.
I looked down at my feet, feeling guilty since it was us who led him there.
Avarice raised scoffed, showing no remorse about any of the destruction despite being the initial trespasser.
"Something you wish to say?" Viraa directed at him, but he played it off and spun things.
"Not at all, I'm just shocked by the state our great Primordial Queen has allowed herself to be put in," he mocked. "I suppose it's a good thing those humans you care so much about won't be affected by your death."
"Unbelievable. You're immortal, not invincible," Za'Fia scoffed in annoyance.
"You wouldn't have fared any better," Tymon stated defensively.
"Hm. I suppose we'll never know, will we?" Avarice shrugged.
"We should've left you with Verin," Za'Fia grunted.
"Even if you had, she'd still be in this same position. Why? Because I wasn't there to offer my wisdom. To spot her enemy's weaknesses and our opportunities despite the power difference. At the very least, I could've warned you all that Aeric was on his way once it was established that the initial attackers worked for him. Objectively speaking, it was the most obvious outcome, but you all were too staggered by the attack and concerned about casualties to see it."
"Okay, we get it. You're smarter than us and don't care, so you can see the bigger picture," I said, disheartened. "What big picture do you see now?"
"That you don't need to worry about the humans. Your death won't affect them, and once you die, your control over me goes with you. Rest assured, I have no business with Earth anymore, so I'll grab my children and leave it forever. I'll even kill Verin for you if you'd like, you know, as a last wish."
Seeing his indifference made me momentarily wish he'd been around during the attack to be humbled like the rest of us, but then I forced the thought out, immediately feeling guilty about wishing ill on him.
Despite his words, Heart's Eye revealed Avarice was suppressing his rage from the humiliation of dying without putting up a fight. He'd turned up his jerk dial to overcompensate.
I couldn't blame him for wanting to forget it. Aeric was too much for even Fulvia, but we were nothing to almost anyone. Honestly, it was laughably pathetic.
"That's a zasshu for you," Za'Fia commented. "Now I see why they don't bother him."
"Aeric's an issue, but we have bigger things to worry about right now," Tymon stated, nodding toward me.
"Right, you guys mentioned me being in a coma and being unable to be healed. How long until things get worse?" I asked.
"Lisa, at the rate that your body is bleeding, your heart could give out within an hour," Viraa stated.
"I see why Avarice is so sure I'll die then...," I said lightly, trying not to freak out. I didn't want to spend my last hour in denial. I was about to suggest they transport me back to Earth with Rabae's power when I felt a strong resistance from Viraa.
"No. I will not allow that. I can only think of one method that has the best chance of restoring your health...and making you stronger. All of you. Though risky and unorthodox, if you can be strong and survive, it will give you a presence none here can ignore."
"You seriously know a way to save her from that state?" Za'Fia asked incredulously.
"More importantly, it'll make us stronger?" Avarice chimed in.
"Only if she survives," Viraa looked at him pointedly.
"Please don't tell me I have to absorb power from multiple people again. I don't think I can go through that again." I protested.
"No. That won't be the case," Viraa remained serious. "But if I am being transparent, this will undoubtedly put you through much more pain than what happened on Earth. Lisa, if your will is not strong enough, your heart could give out."
"Oh...," I muttered.
"We will need to take your body to Raina for the procedure. But before that, I must share one last thing: should you survive, the process will cause me to cease to exist."
