You weren't sure about this at first, and your stomach was twisting itself into knots in nervousness, like it always does. But as soon as dinner, you were having the time of your life, talking about everything and nothing with him. You guys are basically the two nerds everyone can't help but find cute as a couple, and you're fine with that label, because you can see yourself spending the rest of your life with him.
He's fine with you being asexual, he's fine with you having anxiety disorder and depression, and his being so accepting warms you to your core.
When you go mini-golfing, he lets you go first and you're terrible, but you're both laughing and dancing and it's all good fun, and you're just so happy being with him, you don't want it to end, not really.
When he kisses you, it's a bit sloppy, a bit messy, but both of you are still getting used to it, and don't mind.
And when he drops you off outside your house and says goodnight, you hug him and take in his scent, his warmth, everything you can about him, until you see him again.
And in the back of your mind you acknowledge that not everyone gets a fairy-tale ending, but you suspend that belief, because when you're with him, you genuinely think that it could be you and him who get it.
