Tears are streaming down his softly pink cheeks. I give him a small smile, knowing that will not help much. I pull off the deserted road. I unbuckle my seat belt, get out of the car, and walk to the passenger door. The door is already open by the time I make it over there. He looks up at me and I look down at him. He softly puts his hand on my hip, and he pulls me down onto his lap. My legs wrap around his waist, as he closes the door, so as not to let the cold air in. He nuzzles his nose into the crook of my neck. Then his body begins to shake uncontrollably. I wrap my arms around him and stroke his hair delicately. I want him to know I am here for him.
