特徵：自然族群中有分為白糖種和黃糖種，兩種都有紅豆狀斑紋。白糖種為白化種，兩個種族其實沒有分別。他們身體光滑細膩，摸上去涼涼的。背部有豆沙色魚鰭，眼睛部分很脆弱。
習性：與普通彈塗魚不一樣，砵砵們是完全的陸上生物。身上會分泌薄蠟來保留水分，另外也會用肺部呼吸。背上的魚鰭在繁殖時會伸出吸引異性。他們常常會在糕點店出現，並以食物碎屑為主食。大多數砵砵們的樣子都看起來很蠢，不過只是視力比較差的緣故。

Behavior: Unlike the real fish, they use lung to breath. They can produce a thin layer of wax to protect their skin. Their fins are used to attract female in breeding season. They appear in traditional chinese dessert shop, and they eat detritus. They have a poor sight and thus sometimes they look stupid.
