Frisk，一個不討人喜歡的孩子，缺乏關愛且絕望，伴隨著父母最後那刺痛人心的話語，少女登上了依波特山並跳下了山上的無底洞窟。

意想不到的是，想自殺的她不僅沒有死，還邂逅了一群友善的地下居民。

一種名叫DARK的負面物質影響了他們，被DARK附上的怪物會被困在自己的內心世界，不斷看見自己最害怕的夢魘。

Frisk利用自己的能力「SAVE」拯救怪物，展開一場以生命為代價的救贖
