One day, William was returning home from college, just like every other day. On his way, he unexpectedly ran into Jordan. Both of them were shocked to see each other.

William asked, “Jordan! How come you’re here? Weren’t you permanently settled in the UK? It’s been so long!”

Jordan sighed and said, “Oh man, what can I even tell you? My business was doing so well, but then a so-called friend came to me and asked to join my business. Trusting him as a friend, I agreed and even gave him access to the office bank account. For a few days, he worked honestly, but then one day, he fled with more than a billion from the office account. I was left unable to pay my employees, and eventually, I had to sell my company. All I got was one crore, and I’m clueless about what to do next.”

Hearing this, William said, “I’ve recently earned my law degree. Let me take your case and fight for your justice. We’ll file a case against him.”

[In the Courtroom]
The court session began, and William told Jordan, “Just answer everything truthfully, okay?”

The judge started the proceedings. The defendant’s lawyer opened the case, saying, “Your Honor, my client’s name is James. It is being alleged that James stole over a billion from Mr. Jordan’s company. However, the reality is that Jordan himself gave this money to James willingly. So, what is the wrongdoing here?”

William objected, “Your Honor, Jordan did not give the money willingly. James got hold of the company’s bank passcode and then stole the money. I have this file here, which clearly shows that Jordan had given James access to the passcode for business purposes, but James misused it. Both their fingerprints are on the document, which confirms this.”

The defendant’s lawyer interrupted, “Your Honor, I can bring a witness to prove that this case is false. I request permission to call Mr. Max to the stand.”

The judge allowed it, and Max was questioned. The lawyer asked Max, “Did Jordan give James the key to the bank account in your presence?”

Max replied, “Yes, Your Honor. The boss gave him the key in front of me. Moreover, I was told to lie in court that Jordan forced James to take the money.”

At this point, James stood up and shouted, “Yes, I took the money! I was desperate because my mother died due to his refusal to help me. When I asked for money, he denied it. Oh, what have I done!”

William immediately said, “Your Honor, the accused has confessed to his crime!”

Jordan explained, “Your Honor, I didn’t refuse to give him money out of malice. James had already tricked me multiple times and taken money from me in the past. I was afraid he’d deceive me again. That’s why I refused and had been cautious for a while.”

The judge ruled, “James is sentenced to 8 months in prison for stealing more than a billion and deceiving his boss. Jordan is acquitted with honor. The case is over.”

After the case, Jordan hugged William and said, “Thank you. If it weren’t for you, I wouldn’t have even filed the case and might have ended up wandering aimlessly.”

William smiled and replied, “No need to thank me. You’re my friend, after all. Now come with me and stay at my home for a while.”

The End.
