Appearance:
Leolin's hair is short, thin, straight black hair that's very soft to the touch. His hairstyle is reminiscent of a military cut, although it's slightly longer, measuring approximately two to two and a half inches. However, even though his hair is longer than a standard military cut, it never seems to spike; instead, it lies in clean and smooth layers. He usually has it sweep slightly to the right, but sometimes on the left if he feels it. This sweep creates a gentle shadow that highlights his red eyes, giving him a dramatic flair. His bangs, however, are cut just above his eyebrows when it is straight, but he sweeps them on one side as well, and the opposite side where he sweeps the top. Lastly, the sides of his hair are trimmed short and clean in a neat and orderly fashion.

Leolin wears a black fitted uniform shirt with rolled-up short sleeves. The fabric is ultralight and breathable, making it easy for him to move around if needed. Additionally, its black color allows him to blend in at night or in other dark surroundings if necessary. On top of his shirt is a jacket that ends in the middle of his chest with charms, notes, or lightweight tools inside his pockets. Just like the shirt, the jacket is breathable and very flexible, made from reinforced material. His pants are also black, with a fake-looking thigh pocket. His shoes are a combination of combat and academy styles, as they are a hybrid of both with a hint of red on them. Lastly, he wears a flat black wristband with hidden storage, a slim utility belt that blends with his uniform, and a thick black chain that's worn down and tucked under his shirt with a locket attached with a drawing of his mother. His uniform didn't really change. He still wears the black uniform shirt, but with the sleeves now rolled up, paired with a vest on top. The vest is lined and reinforced with a hidden clasp on the inside. This is specifically designed to anchor the locket chain, keeping it in place during emergencies. On top of the vest is a dark trench coat that's slightly longer than standard. He flips the high collar up when there are cold winds or while he is scouting. The trenchcoat is weatherproof and gives him a dramatic effect when he moves. His pants are essentially the same, but reinforced at the knees and hips with a hidden panel near his calf, which could accommodate a slim tool or another folded charm inside. His shoes, however, are now full-on black combat boots with warm lining, red lines that match his eyes, and they are very soft, making absolutely no noise. Lastly, he wears black leather gloves and a lockpick-sized flashlight, which is clipped inside his trench coat, with his locket tucked under his vest over his heart. Leolin is a brave soul. He loves horror and ghost stories. Most of the time, if not, he will watch some ghost-hunting show. Instead, whether those are real or not is up for debate, but he loves the kind of thrill they give him. Consequently, he also has no fear of blood or people falling dead. Perhaps this comes with age, or the fact that he has been hunting since he was around ten years old. That doesn’t mean he is heartless. Leolin is a very loyal man. This was mainly shown through his wife and the Civil War. He had never looked at another woman with so much love when he was still married. During the Civil War, he did everything in his power to help Sterling prevent it from happening. Although he doesn’t know precisely what caused the Civil War in the first place, he is just happy it has ended.
Even though Leolin is a brave and loyal man, he can be pretty harsh if needed, though often that isn’t quite true. He usually comes across as a harsh person when he expresses his thoughts without considering the consequences that follow. He does try to keep this in check, but he struggles with this. Sterling Love (America, Father)- Leolin loves to help Sterling in any way. This commutes to him cooking, cleaning, taking care of his siblings, and assisting with paperwork. Granted, the last one is something he doesn't really help unless Sterling gets sick, along with who was in charge at the time, until Beau became connected to DC, which made him the official capital.

Liberty Love (Mother)- Due to Leolin being the second child. He is the closest, along with his twin, Scarlett, to their mother. Of course, like their siblings, he absolutely adores her. Cardinal (State Bird)
Leolin has the wings and tail of the Cardinal, which is a bright, crimson red. However, at the back of the wings, the color is darker and more dull. He speaks in a clear voice, as this bird is known for the clear whistling singing voice that does differ from one Cardinal to another. This, in turn, makes him one of the callers among his siblings to sound the bells if danger comes. The others are Gwydion (Illinois), Kelia (Indiana), Aimée (Kentucky), Alec (North Carolina), Lamar (Ohio), and Scarlett (Virginia). Although there can only be one, they often switch every week, and each is different from the others. This makes it easy for the rest of the family to know who is who.
Just like most birds, Cardinals are territorial, which doesn't help Leolin in any way. Especially since he loves to share and lets others go into his territory. Black Bear (State Mammal)
Leolin has the ears and tail of the black bear, which is, of course, black in color. He has good eyesight, but it's only effective up close, not at a distance. He also isn't territorial when he has these features out. He is also a great climber of trees and a really great swimmer, especially among his siblings, excluding those who have fish, whales, or seals. Continuing the tree climbing, he can climb up to 100 feet in one go. He is also very agile and can run at speeds of up to 30 miles per hour. He also has a great sense of smell, so much so that he can hardly wait for food to be done cooking. This usually left him drooling.
Timber Rattlesnake (State Reptile)
Leolin has the tail of this snake, which is yellow-brown primarily with dark brown crossbands. Leolin does have venom like this species, but can only poison someone if he bites them. He is also very good at camouflage in his family. Sterling has taught them all how to camouflage as a means of hiding from danger if needed. He is good at climbing trees, though not the best among his siblings. Leolin is an excellent tracker, primarily due to two key factors. The State Reptile and his mother taught him everything she knew about tracking animals when hunting.
