拉澤爾原為貴族,也曾帶兵作戰,在死線戰爭之初立了不少戰功,但後來戰況急轉直下,其妻被殺,其子女也被魔族擄走,失意的拉澤爾只好在死線戰爭中拼命殺敵……一次對上了某實力極強的魔族將軍,差點戰敗之際一名天使賽伊亞(只是路過、冥神派她看下戰場 需不需要介入)救了他一命（看中他不屈的意志),後來還教拉澤爾「冥」之魔法 以及引薦他當冥神使(拉澤爾的冥界劍術也是這時期創的),拉澤爾靠著這 些能力一路斬殺多名魔族高階將領,還從某魔族手下救了一名人類(其實是半魔族) 少年伊塔拉爾,改名伊凡．拉瓦並收養他。拉澤爾很疼這個養子,幾年過去,他卻開始 強烈地思念起自己的妻子,後來甚至動起了冥神使能力(掌管冥界、亡靈等)的想法...
