雖說大多人看到精靈並不會對他們有太多惡意，有些甚至會有貿易合作關係(精靈善作器物、釀酒，人類擅組織、打獵)，但後來有人發現精靈身邊有時會因為聚集太多粒子(那時人類還不知道粒子是什麼)而引發生物的魔化現象而成魔物，於是有人 開始遠離精靈族(還有些趕盡殺絕)，不過也有人嘗試擊退魔物，發現打倒後牠們體內會有一種特殊的結晶體。人類把這種晶體稱為「魔核」，因其經過淬煉可 製成特別精良的武器，人類也會用魔核交易。
