In 1972, the war between Mann Co. and the mercenaries is still raging, with no signs of slowing down. However, Gray Mann—the mastermind behind a rather uninspired corporation—is starting to notice his robots failing. What? How could this be?! Those bumbling mercenaries were... adapting to his ingenious machines, even after they had disbanded?! This disaster was beginning to chip away at Gray Mann’s power and life supply... He NEEDED that vault of Australium. But... there might be a solution. Introducing Team GRY (Gladiatorial Rivalry Yielders)—and no, “Yielders” doesn’t mean what you think. Though the name may be questionable, Team GRY has no plans to yield to anyone.
Team GRY is a squad of “highly trained” tropical birds, each injected with DNA from the original mercenaries, along with a splash of Gray Mann’s signature "Brain Juice." Thanks to these absurd experiments, these birds have evolved (or perhaps devolved) into smart, strong... and still rather small versions of the mercenaries. With only five members, the team is a bit thin—turns out finding tropical birds in New Mexico isn’t easy. So, Gray Mann “borrowed” Olivia Mann’s newly adopted pet birds for his grand scheme. Not only that, he even managed to swipe the mercenaries’ titles! Team GRY includes the Agent, the Vandal, the Artilleryman, the Assassin, and the Doctor.
These “original” and brilliantly named birds are training for a strike on the mercenaries... but with limited contact with Gray Mann, their fates are anyone’s guess. Follow Team GRY through their daily routines, epic battles, and all the inevitable chaos that unfolds!
