凌晨一點，轎車自交流道開下，停在一棟公寓樓下。開車的男人說：

「L就在樓上，我們上去把他搬下來吧。」

多年後的吳憶式來到L的公寓，要來履行他答應要為L做的最後一件事——

親手搬運他的屍體……

曾經感情緊密與天真的兩人，在那次意外的窺伺，見識死亡侵入日常的陰影後，他們開啟了冗長的罪惡與後悔的故事，並導致了兩人的疏離。吳憶式心中的罪惡感開始積累，一點一滴，直到再次見到L的時候……

我們真的能夠窺探死亡的完全模樣嗎？還是，我們只能窺探死亡的側面，而不能真正理解完全的死亡？


他要與他少年時期的錯誤共處一室，在逼仄的空間，感受責問的低溫，忍受遲來的罪的氣味，承受後座滴水落下的愧疚的聲音。吳憶式祈禱後座的冰塊尚有古老的防腐力量，能如耐撞的棺槨般，深深地把L的屍體封入中央，抵銷外界惡意的震動，然後……

撐過這漫漫的、赤裸的夜。
