主角亞當是一個生活在一個名為圖形星的一個居民，是一個異形，因為異形這個身份，使得和母親相依為命的他是這個星球內的低等階層。父親早死，但日子過得亦十分充實，亞當沒有因此有任何怨言。
  一天，母親因一場車禍不治去世，遭受到突然打擊的亞當從母親手上接過鑰匙，尋求其他圖形的幫助，可是卻又因種種變故而被迫出走，繼而展開一場尋找容身之所的冒險之旅⋯⋯
