Words that I will never know

That they will never suspect

That the people whisper to each other in mornings and in evenings

Stories more sacred than the Bible

Older than Beowulf

And it's for the best that I don't know

It's so much safer that I don't know

But in the remnants of ancient ways of being

I find the words that can turn my bleeding into ink
