主人翁凡妮是一個愛搗蛋的平凡十歲小女孩，她的生活就只有學校、家人和元首。

凡妮對於元首的話語向來照單全收，對元首於戰後為了保護國民而架設天遮遮蔽整片天空，並隔絕所有陽光以阻擋敵人獲得力量這個豐功偉績，凡妮絕對心懷感恩，並發誓這輩子也要追隨元首，成為元首的英勇小戰士。

可是一個駭人聽聞的晚上，將會顛覆凡妮自小所相信的一切，並開始令她對她所敬愛的元首的所作所為產生疑問，亦令她最終拋開枷鎖，無畏無懼地抬頭。
