原序：

        前段時間再讀周汝昌先生的精校本《紅樓夢-八十回石頭記》（海燕出版社，2004.9），相比之前產生了許多疑問，過去讀時僅僅是注意情節，對人物的命運扼腕歎息，這次卻對人物的年紀產生了興趣，網上查了一下，眾說紛紜、莫衷一是，遂萌發了自己做一個紅樓夢人物年齡考據的念頭。經過一個多月的努力，終於弄出一篇，本考據是通過小說的情節推斷的，結合了曹雪芹生活的那個時代的一些客觀事實，如果和某位的考據巧合，實乃是英雄所見略同，絕非抄襲，望持磚網友慎拍。
