I have always wanted to become an archeologist. Ever since I was young I had this desire to know more about the ones that have lived before us. It was fascinating, especially the Ancient Egypt. I used to watch and read everyrhing I could find about it and about the pharaohs and the pyramids. I was so obsessed with it that I learned how to read hyerogliphs.
Of course, being an archeologist is a lot of work and you get your hands dirty, literally, but it looked so fun. I wanted to go on adventures and find possible relics left behind. I wanted to work with people whom I could learn from. It was my childhood dream.
One day, at school, my history teacher told me bluntly that archeology is not an adventure but a meticulous job. I had to wipe the dust off every little bone and every mug or plate. Maybe some of them weren't even from the times I wanted. From then on, my wish to learn as much ancient history as I could kind of faded away.
It came back when I finished high school. I still wish I could grab the first ticket to Egypt and work with archeologists, even if it's not discovering something significant.
