28歲前夕，Jamil Viper收到一封未署名的國際郵件，驅使他前往十年來未曾再次踏足的異國土地──紐約。

信件上只有一句話：「你還記得他嗎？」

15歲時，Jamil舉家遷往紐約，起因是父母為期最少三年的調任。他在那裡度過三個生日，並在第三次生日後啟程返家。如今塵封的記憶被人刻意撬開，他需要回到故地，尋找他有意迴避的真相。

是耳際鈴聲響起，他一直看見銀髮少年。Kalim Al-Asim仍舊一副少年模樣，從記憶的舊閣樓破窗而出的白孔雀，心臟開一朵重瓣的豔麗的花，花瓣落在他掌心上。

他在紐約與許多人相識，但只與一人斷聯，他把不告而別的人關進小小的盒子裡，本打著主意再也不要打開。

顯然有人不讓他這麼做。
