Today was my first day working as a guard for the third Prince, Matthias Lorena, my fake(?) fiancé. He told me to come in during the middle of the night just to exchange greetings(?) with me. I didn't want to oblige, but he made it seem urgent that I go see him then. When I arrived at Matthias's chambers, the guard at the door was asleep which shouldn't have happened. I decided to open his chambers' door instead of knock. There were several lanterns lit up. Prince Matthias suddenly stood up and smiled at me.
"Why, it's been quite a while, Lia," the prince exclaimed, "I'm so glad you were able to come at this time."
"You asked for me, so I came," I said, "Isn't that how employees should act?" Prince Matthias sighed.
"But you're also my fiancée," Prince Matthias said. I smiled softly, not wanting to let him know that I was happy that he remembered.
"That's true," I said, "But, you do realize that your guard outside was asleep."
"He was given a sleeping draught," Prince Matthias said, "Because I didn't want him to know that you were here."
"That's..." I started, but decided not to tell him that it was flattering, but at the same time rather reckless.
"I'm fine," Prince Matthias said, "But do you know what it means to go to your lover's chambers at night?" I could feel my face flush and I hoped he didn't see it.
"I didn't realize," I said, "I thought it had something to do with the job." Prince Matthias wrapped his arms around my waist.
"I never said it had anything to do with the job," Prince Matthias said. He kissed me and for some reason I couldn't think straight. "So, do you want to?" I nodded, all my reasoning was going out the window.
"Yes," I said. We ended up getting undressed and getting into his bed.
"I'm going to use my fingers again to stretch you," Prince Matthias said, "Seeing as it was better for you when I did it that way."
"That's fine," I said. Prince Matthias carefully stretched me and then he started thrusting his dick inside me. It felt much better than when he was under the affects of the aphrodisiac when he had sex with me the first time in linier time. We kept going for what felt like hours, because he didn't seem to want to stop.
When we were done, we got dressed because the other knights were scheduled to show up soon. I wanted to hide out of embarrassment, but that would be a bad idea, as knights are trained to notice if someone was hiding. I got quick drying magic.
When the knights were scheduled to arrive, there was a knock at the door.
“It’s your knights, your highness,” a loud voice said from the other side of the door, “We weren't able to locate Sir Hawthorne. I hope that's alright.”
“Come in,” Prince Matthias shouted, “Sir Hawthorne was called in beforehand so he's already with me.” The door opened and in came five guards and a captain of the guards. They all looked at me with suspicion.
“May I ask why he was called in before me?” The captain of the guards asked. Prince Matthias smirked.
“I was just curious about something,” Prince Matthias said, “But it wasn’t something to worry about, Cappernick. Please proceed in introductions.”
“My name is Jacob Morning, your highness,” a former friend of mine said. He was a former friend because he never defended me when I was being targeted by older soldiers.
“My name is Louis Cain, your highness,” someone I never considered a friend said.
“Samuel Reid is my name, your highness,” my dear friend Samuel said.
“I am Elias Minor, your highness,” someone I didn't recognize said.
“My name is John Applegate, your highness,” my childhood friend John said. Everyone then looked at me.
“Liam Hawthorne is my name, your highness,” I said.
“My name is Arnold Cappernick,” the captain said, “I am the captain of the third prince’s guards. I will bring you to the third prince's guards’ room now to meet the other guards.”
As soon as we left the room, I tripped over someone's foot, but I was able to steady myself enough to not fall flat on my face. I didn't care who did it, as long as no one hurt my man. When we got to where we were supposed to go, there were many guards, possibly over a hundred of them. A whole bunch of them swarmed over to the six of us, mostly Sir Minor and Sir Cain.
“My name is Liam Hawthorne,” I said, “I hope that I could be seen as just another knight in the third prince's guards. Please take care of me.” One of the older guards that came up to me looked at me anxiously, he had copper colored eyes and medium brown hair.
“Is it true that you beat up Billy and his crew when you were still a trainee?” He asked, then noticed he did something wrong, “My name is Graham Onix.” I was trying to recall who Billy was… I think he meant William Carnage and his friends, who were the older knights that picked on me for looking girly and while it was true that I beat them up, I wasn't able to do it right away.
“I guess,” I said, “They were pretty mean to me when I was just a knight trainee. I trained really hard to be able to defeat them, so it was probably about three months from the time they started picking on me to the time when I was able to beat them up.”
“Billy and his crew crippled my best friend Logan Albright when we were all trainees, eight years ago,” Sir Onix said, “So I'm very grateful that someone was able to stand up to them. I am a little sad that they continued to pick on trainees even though they should've known better.”
“Oh,” I said, “I’m sorry about your friend, but I did it for myself. I didn't think anybody cared to talk about that.”
“It's actually one of the lesser known rumors, Sir Hawthorne,” Sir Onix said.
“Hey, let us speak with the newbie too, Sir Onix,” another guard shouted. Sir Onix nodded and walked away. A bunch of them introduced themselves to me, but they all seemed to be enamored with my appearance.
There weren't any women in the third prince's guards, so I guess they were trying to use me as a replacement again. The knight training academy had about ten female applicants a year, but not all of them graduated and in my year none of them did. I think it's that everyone thought I was one because I'm a witch, but I didn't have any powers at the time and I'm male.
A little while later, when I was going to find a bathroom, I suddenly went through a ripple in time. I was sent back to the training academy and a young Sir Onix ran into me.
“My friend needs help!” Sir Onix shouted, “There's a gang of boys attacking him.”
“Can you show me where your friend is?” I asked. Sir Onix nodded and led me to behind the storage shed where a young William Carnage and his crew were beating up a boy much smaller than them. “Stupid, you aren't supposed to pick on the weak to show that you're strong.” That caused them to turn their attention to me.
“Why is a witch wearing a guard uniform?” One of Billy's crew asked. I laughed and Sir Onix picked up his friend in a bridal carry.
“Because I'm a knight like you’re training to be,” I said, “And if you can't beat me, I suggest you wait about four years and try again when Liam Hawthorne comes to the knight training academy. He looks just like me because we're related.” I looked around for Sir Onix, but he must have already left with his friend. Billy and his crew glared at me, but then tried to attack me all at once. I was able to subdue them all without a weapon.
“How the hell is she so strong?” One of the other members asked. I glared at him.
“I'm sorry to disappoint you, but I'm a man,” I said, “I have to go now. Don't mess your lives up too much.” I walked over to a place where I wouldn't be seen to go back through the ripple in time to where I just was.
When I went back to the present, everything was just as it was before I went through the ripple and I realized I didn't go to the bathroom yet, so I quickly found it and relieved myself. I went back to the room where the other guards were to find everyone saluting for Prince Matthias. I quickly got into place and saluted him too.
“Father, the King, just let me and my brothers know that there would be a competition to become the crown prince,” Prince Matthias said, “Only three of us would be competing, which are the first prince, the third prince, and the fifth prince. I am the third prince, so I will be competing, but Prince Lucius and Prince Eric are also competing. We weren't told what we were competing in yet, but I think I have a good chance. This means that I might be targeted more than I had been before.
“I’m going to do something different for my guards as well and assign the six newbies to different groups of the guards. Then, they will rotate between them every month until they’ve tried out in all six groups. The leader of each group will then tell Captain Cappernick which of the newbies are their top two picks. If there is a tie, there will be a match between group leaders as a tiebreaker.
“Now I will list the first rotation, which starts right now: Sir Elias Minor will be in the morning guard, Sir John Applegate will be in the midday guard, Sir Jacob Morning will be afternoon guard, Sir Louis Cain will be evening guard, Sir Samuel Reid will be standby guard, and Sir Liam Hawthorne will be night guard. At ease, my guards. I have something to do right away, so I will be leaving with the morning guards.” Prince Matthias left with the morning guards, Sir Minor included.
“Why was the pretty one put on the night shift?” One of the knights, whose name I didn't bother to learn, asked.
“I think it's because there's fewer people awake at night,” another knight said, “So a pretty one like her would be tested harsher due to the higher possibility of assassination attempts.” I knew that was a possibility, but I really think he wanted me to take that shift first for another reason and it wasn't one I could tell anyone about. Having a prince for a lover is probably not a good thing for a witch, let alone a male witch. I decided to go take a nap so that I can be ready for my first night shift.
“Where do I go to sleep?” I asked one of the other guards.
“Night shift usually sleeps in that room,” an indifferent guard said as he pointed to a door that wasn't the one to the hallway. I opened the door to find a bunch of bunk beds and multiple men already asleep on them. I climbed up onto a top bunk that was empty and fell right to sleep.
“Wake up, you lazy bitch!” a loud voice shouted, effectively waking me up. I sat up quickly and looked at whoever just yelled. It wasn't one of the guards that I met today, it was a maid who looked very angry. I climbed down and walked out, fixing my uniform on the way to the guards' room.
“Sleeping beauty is finally awake,” Jacob Morning said. I glared at him.
“I'm guessing that it's evening already seeing as you’re here,” I said.
“If you want dinner, you should hurry to the kitchen two doors to the right in the hallway,” Jacob Morning said, “They said it's only open for another thirty minutes.”
“Thank you,” I said, as I left for the kitchen. When I arrived at the kitchen, there was only one plate left.
“Sit and eat,” a cook said.
“Thank you,” I said. I quickly ate and went back to the guards' room to wait for the other night shift guards. Eight angry guards came into the room.
“You're that pretty newbie,” one of them said, “Are you Sir Hawthorne of the newbie guards?”
“Yes,” I said.
“I'm George Molten,” a guard with a scar on his white eyebrows, blue eyes, and a bald head said, “I'm the one in charge of the night shift guards. We weren't able to introduce ourselves before the meeting, because you weren't there when we arrived. Now, boys, introduce yourself to the newbie.”
“My name is Mark Grayson,” a guard with gray eyes and auburn hair said.
“I'm Conner Tourney,” a redhead with green eyes, freckles, and a scar on the left side of his lips said.
“Jackson La Rue,” a dark brown haired man with light brown eyes said, “It's a pleasure.”
“Wayne Cooper is the name,” a brown eyed blond with a scar that went down the right side of his face said.
“My name is Gary,” a green eyed bald man with a brown beard said, “I don't have a last name.”
“I'm Gustavo Bellini,” a brown eyed dark haired man said.
“I don't like my name, so I don't announce it,” a blue eyed blond said, “But everyone calls me ‘wishing well’ so you can too.” How did he get that nickname?
“It's nice to meet you,” I said.
“Is it true that you graduated at the top of your class in the knight training academy?” Sir Molten asked, “I heard a rumor that a blue haired witch had managed that feat after coming in near the bottom of the class. I didn't realize that it was a male witch, so I was sincerely surprised because male witches are very rare. I only heard of one other one aside from you and he died about twenty-five years ago.” There was another male witch and I couldn't meet him because I was born six years too late?!
“Yes, Sir, I graduated at the top of my class,” I said, “I'm surprised you knew about another male witch, but it's a shame that I was born too late to meet him. Do you happen to know his name?” Sir Molten smiled.
“He was my great grand uncle,” Sir Molten said, “His name was Laine Molten and he was the last witch in my family, as none of his siblings were witches and being a witch never skips a generation.”
“Thank you for the information,” I said, “I am glad to know that I wasn't the only one.”
“Well, it's almost time,” Sir Molten said, “Let's go relieve the evening guards.” So we went to see where Prince Matthias and the evening guards were. When we found them, eight of them were standing around looking anxious. I recognized Louis Cain amongst them.
“His highness is taking a bath,” one of the evening guards said, “He asked one of us to check the area while he got in, so the one in charge of us went in, but neither of them are back out yet.” Then, the door opened to reveal the missing guard with a fresh wound on his left arm.
“There was a bit of a scuffle,” he said, “But I need someone to tend to his highness’ wound until we can get the royal doctor to see him and a few people to get rid of the assassins.” Then the guard in charge noticed me and his eyes widened. “Sir Molten, may I ask one of your subordinates to tend to his highness?”
“We're relieving you for the night anyway, Sir Laurent,” Sir Molten said.
“Thank you, Sir Molten,” Sir Laurent said, “Sir Hawthorne, his highness was asking for you to tend to him.” I was handed a tin of gauze. I nodded and went into the bathroom to find Prince Matthias sitting on the floor shirtless and sleepy with a stab wound on his left shoulder, and a slash wound on that same arm near his elbow. He looked like he lost a fair amount of blood and was dragged out of the tub, but the fatigue of staying up too long on top of that probably got to be too much. I wrapped up his wounds with the gauze and he woke up. He touched my face with his right hand.
“Hawthorne, why do you have such a pretty face?” Prince Matthias asked. I finished wrapping his wounds.
“I'm not sure, your highness,” I said, “How do you want to be brought back to your room?” Prince Matthias smirked, making me think he was going to ask me to do something weird.
“Can you carry me, Hawthorne?” Prince Matthias asked. I frowned, trying to think of a way to carry him by myself that others wouldn't see as insubordination. “Bridal carry please. I want to feel what it's like.” I tried my best to hold in my laughter, because I knew that he was being serious.
“Of course, your highness,” I said. I carried him in the way he wanted easily, but since he was taller and bigger than me it looked a little awkward. I could feel all eyes on me from the other night shift guards as I carried Prince Matthias to his room. He fell asleep while I was carrying him. When I got there, Sir Gary moved the blanket down on the bed so that Prince Matthias could be tucked in easier after I put him down.
“I didn't know you were that strong, Sir Hawthorne,” Sir La Rue said, “You look very feminine, so I never expected you to be able to carry a bigger man than yourself, let alone be able to carry him for the distance you took him without stopping, slowing down, or sweating.”
“I don't know why everyone assumes that I'm weak,” I said, “I have strong muscles like the rest of you, I just don't like flaunting my muscles or being shirtless. ‘Looking feminine’ has nothing to do with strength, there are women who are prettier than me and are just as strong if not stronger than me.”
“Who are you talking about?” Sir La Rue asked. He didn't realize that I was talking about the only princess of the kingdom, Princess Hildegard?
“Our nation’s own Princess Hildegard,” I said. Sir La Rue’s eyes widened as he realized that I was right.
“You shouldn't have said that,” Sir Molten said, “It's not a good thing if someone were to hear you talking about her highness like that, especially in the palace. It was supposed to be a well kept secret. How did you even find out?”
“She challenged me to a duel that was held a month before my graduation,” I said, “It was held somewhere that only a few people knew about and there were only three of us there, the referee, the princess, and myself. We fought for what felt like forever, but she beat me in the end. Her winnings was just her asking me a question that I didn't yet have the answer to, but I do have the answer now.”
“So, you need a way to speak with her, correct?” Prince Matthias asked, causing me to realize that he had woken up.
“Yes, your highness,” I said.
“She actually asked for you during the day, Hawthorne,” Prince Matthias said, “But when I told her that you were on night shift, she said that she’d visit me to speak to you before the first bell toll of the day. She usually goes straight to the training grounds to spar with the kingdom’s knights who aren't posted as guards for the royal family, but she insisted that she sees you first. I think it might have something to do with the answer you have now, Hawthorne.” There was a knock on the door, so Sir Molten went over and checked who it was.
“The royal physician has arrived,” Sir Molten said as he let in a man wearing nightclothes, glasses, and a cap holding a big bag in his hand.
“Your highness, please excuse my nightclothes,” the royal physician said, “I came as soon as I heard.”
“It's alright, royal physician Mystic,” Prince Matthias said, “Can everyone but Molten and Hawthorne leave the room?” The other guards in the room made noises of dissatisfaction, but all trudged out. I wasn't sure if his name was Mystic or if it was a title.
“May I ask why these two guards are staying, your highness?” Royal physician Mystic asked.
“Hawthorne was the one who treated my wounds and brought me here,” Prince Matthias said, “And Molten is his superior. The one who fought the assassins with me already went back to the guards' room. I hope he has his wounds taken care of.”
“Let's see the way your wounds were wrapped,” royal physician Mystic said as he started looking at my handiwork, “It looks like it was wrapped very well, like you're very experienced with taking care of wounds like this, Sir Hawthorne. Do you have any healing magic? You are a witch, right, Sir Hawthorne?” I frowned.
"I completely forgot about that," I said, "I've never used healing magic before." The royal physician laughed, but then realized that I was being serious.
"My brother's lover is a male witch," royal physician Mystic said, "And he told me that there were two ways a male witch can heal their 'fated man' and only one way a female witch can heal anyone, so may I asked which one are you?"
"I'm a male witch," I said, "And he is my fated man." Royal Physician Mystic moved over to whisper something in the prince's ear.
"Is that alright?" Royal Physician Mystic said.
"If that's what would make me feel better," Prince Matthias said, "Then, we would need some privacy." Sir Molten and the royal physician left.
"So, what do I have to do?" I asked.
"I need to drink your semen," Prince Matthias said, "Either that or you could use your magic on me." I sighed.
"I think I should just use the magic," I said.
"But I wanted to taste it," Prince Matthias said, "And you can taste mine at the same time."
"If you really want to," I said. So, we got into position with our dicks in each other's faces and started sucking on the other's dick. Prince Matthias started fingering me as well, so I came very quickly, but he wasn't done yet. I had cum a few times before he did. I got water magic.
"I'm all healed up," Prince Matthias said.
"I'm glad," I said.
“Why don't we take a bath, Liam?” Prince Matthias asked, causing me to feel butterflies in my stomach, “I’ll have someone clean your uniform and get you a new one in the meantime.”
“But didn't you just get attacked in the bath?” I asked.
“They won't come twice in the same night,” Prince Matthias said, “Now let's change back into the clothes we were wearing before, so they don't suspect what we just did.” We got dressed and I put the bloody gauze back on Prince Matthias. Then we opened the doors to see that the other guards were playing card games with the royal physician.
“Is everything alright, your highness?” Sir Molten asked.
“Hawthorne and I are going to go to the bathroom and investigate how the assassins got in,” Prince Matthias said, “If someone could stand watch outside too, that would be great. We do need someone inside my chambers as well as someone outside them, to distract them and make them think I’m there.” The guards all nodded and the royal physician huffed and left. Sir Molten followed us to the bathroom and stood watch outside as the prince and I went inside.
“Prince Matthias, I hope you don't mind if we bathe together?” I asked. Prince Matthias looked very excited and we quickly got undressed to go into the bath.
"How do you end up not disappearing from present day like you did after your time slip?" Prince Matthias asked.
“I was always able to time it perfectly so I actually came back the second I left,” I said, “But if you want to kiss me now, you can.” Prince Matthias kissed me. We quickly finished our bath. “I have the power of quick drying as my third power.”
“Oh, use it on me, Hawthorne,” Prince Matthias said. I used it on both of us. There was a knock on the door, so I hid while the Prince, who was only wearing a towel at the moment, opened it. It was Sir Molten handing a change of clothes for both of us.
“Here's some clothes,” Sir Molten said, “I realized that you were both covered in blood before, which is why you had come here together and had someone watch outside, right? I asked two maids to gather the clothes for your highness and for Sir Hawthorne. I didn't tell them anything about your relationship, because they didn't need to know.”
“Thank you, Molten,” Prince Matthias said. He then closed the door and handed me my new uniform. There was no underwear, but I put on the uniform anyway while my Prince was changing and facing the other way. “You don't have to be a guard, Hawthorne. You can just be my lover.”
“But you would have to have a legal wife if you want to be King, your highness,” I said, “And you know how jealous witches are.”
“We could lie because everyone thinks you're a woman and get married to you anyway,” Prince Matthias said, “But then again, I never actually wanted to be King in the first place. I always assumed that the first Prince, my brother Lucius, would become King, but Prince Eric might be a better choice. Both of them are already married, because usually in the royal family we marry at the age of nineteen. My engagement was broken off for three months before you appeared in my room that night, because she was cheating on me and I vowed to find my own partner myself, which is you, Liam.” I turned to Prince Matthias, who was now dressed and looking at me.
“So, am I your first man, your highness?” I asked.
“You're the only one I ever slept with or even wanted to sleep with,” Prince Matthias said, “I didn't even know if I was capable of loving a person until I met you. If things had gone differently, it probably wouldn't be the same, but with you appearing and disappearing like that it made it easier for me to notice my feelings for you. I mean, I did sleep with you on a whim, but being with you just feels right.”
“You’re the only one for me, also,” I said, “We should actually investigate where the assassins came in like we promised my colleagues, your highness.”
“I was scanning the room this whole time,” Prince Matthias said, “They most likely came in through the window or the hole in the wall that's covered with a painting right now. The assassination attempt might have been an inside job from the displeased guards that didn't like that I hired you. I heard that you have a tendency to make enemies, Liam, you should probably lay low for a while.” I frowned.
“Why do you think I have so many, your highness?” I asked. Prince Matthias put his hands on my shoulders.
“I think you're seen as full of yourself," Prince Matthias said, "Because you don't ask for help when you need it." I opened the door and Sir Molten was guarding the door.
“We will be going back to my room, Molten,” Prince Matthias said, “Can you make sure that the guard inside my room comes out before we get there? I have something to discuss with him.”
“Of course, your highness,” Sir Molten said as he went ahead.
“You don't have to worry about anything, Lia,” Prince Matthias said when he noticed that I was anxious. He just used my nickname that I never told him about. When we arrived in front of the chambers, Sir Molten, Sir Cooper, and Sir Bellini were standing behind Sir La Rue who was waiting there looking impatient. “La Rue, I heard that you went through the painting in the bathroom during the morning shift. Can you tell me why you were showing the escape route to spies?” Sir La Rue stiffened and his eyes wouldn't look at Prince Matthias.
“I’d never do that,” Sir La Rue said, “Besides, why is she here?” He was asking about me, but I guess I’d rather give up on correcting people.
“It doesn't matter if Hawthorne is here or not,” Prince Matthias said, “I was asking you to explain yourself after you were caught red-handed.”
“I don't see why you think you have evidence against me, Mr. third prince,” Sir La Rue said. Prince Matthias took something out of his pocket and showed it to him. I didn't get to see what it was, but Sir La Rue's eyes widened and he bit his lip. “How did you get that?”
“This is your handwriting, right?” Prince Matthias asked, “I found it hanging on the door side of the painting. You know that you can be hung for treason, right?”
“I did write that,” Sir La Rue said, “But it was because my loyalty is with his highness the first prince.”
“So, you're one of Lucius’ men?” Prince Matthias asked, “Figures. Molten, can you take him back to my brother?” Molten nodded and dragged La Rue away with Sir Bellini. Sir Cooper opened the door to Prince Matthias' chambers and waved us in. So we went in.
“It’s very late, your highness,” Sir Cooper said, “The more you go in and out of your room the worse off it is. Sir Hawthorne, I believe that it's safe when you're around, but please make sure the prince doesn't leave his chambers until the morning.” I nodded and Sir Cooper closed the door behind him as he went out.
