The sun was already down, so was Vyani's mood. She didn't have any particular reason to smile or actually live today, but still that faint smile which was screaming fake never left her mouth because pretending to be happy becomes more important than actually being happy with people. Avni had made her promise to come to the new cafe opened near the big bakery where they always bought cake from. Vyani had no real intention to go, it's not so difficult for her to break promises, she always breaks them even when they are done with her own self like all the countless times she had promised herself she won't touch the blade but in the end she always does.
She tried to walk faster to reach the place avni had instructed her to come but her legs didn't helped, it was like something was dragging her, motivation of going there wasn't that she wanted to go there but the absence of any excuse why she won't be there.
She reaches the spot, “Let's meet at the front of mastermind coaching classes” that's what Avni had messaged her in the afternoon, now Vyani was turning her tired head here and there to look for her, was it actually the time to do this? When Tis can kill her very own sister any time? The thought was wrapped around her neck like a rope she refused to untie.

“Vyakhya!!!”Avni said as she ran towards Vyani, behind her was Shiksha in her black crop top and those navy blue jeans she wore at her last birthday.
“I am glad you made it, How is your head now?” Shiksha asked Vyani, her eyes worried.
“Fine I think,” Vyani replied.
You think? You don't actually feel it fine? Avni joked, Shiksha giggled but vyani was way too tired for this humanly ridiculous joke.
“Let's go, it's that blue building”. Shiskha said pointing to the street next to them as Vyani looked at it, it was there a blue building with those navy blue fairy lights glittering on it, decorated maybe because it was newly opened.

They walked into the cafe. A tarnish wooden smell with faint smell of raw noodles and feeble sound of the food getting wrapped in aluminium packets. They took a window seat Vyani next to Avni, Avni next to shiksha and Shiskha next to Avni. Vyani just nodded to whatever they both ordered her excuse of being on periods and having mood swings always works when people force her to speak more.
It's not like she doesn't like speaking more or eating at a newly opened cafe but the thing is you don't actually digest food easily when your sister is about to die soon and worse you can't tell anyone anything.

They ordered french fries, spring roll and a plate of hakka noodles, the plates became empty as the clock reached about 7pm. Vyani stood up first and said she wanted to go home soon as her “period cramps” were killing her knowing well her periods ended last week.
Avni gave her a small smile before saying “Let's just have icecream and then we will walk you to your street”.
Vyani nodded at the suggestion but it's not like she could have done anything else. Shiksha was on her phone as she also nodded feebly.
“Which one do you want, Vyani?” Avni asked, pointing to the ice cream in the glass fridge.
“Cornetto chocolate 40 rs one”-
Said another voice at the same time, all three turned their heads towards the direction of the voice.
“Chocolate cornetto 40rs one”, repeated Sankshipt softly, stating clearly he wants the only left one cone of that flavour.
Avni blinked, she knows him, but who doesn't at this point. “Sankshipt right?” she said softly
He nodded, wearing that dark green T-shirt and his black pajamas. Before his eyes went on Shiksha and then Vyani who was on her knees tying her shoelaces.
The lady took three ice creams out and extended it towards shiskha “Ma'am your order”
Sankshipt looked confused before he silently said “Miss, I asked for that chocolate cornetto”, his voice calm but stating his point.
“Sorry sir they already placed it in their initial order and right now we are out of it.” the lady said.
Avni looked at shiksha “When did you -”
“Oh I knew we would feel like eating ice-cream later and I know both of yours favourite flav-
“I want it for my sister, she is seven” Sankshipt said in a firm voice finally looking at them.
Vyani stood up at his voice, her shoelaces tied again as Shiskha looked at Vyani and then at Avni before saying to him “Oh Sorry but we already ordered it before”.
“Oh it's fine I will buy another flavour, she just won't eat it I think, she doesn't like any other one but this” He said nodding.
The three looked at each other before Avni added “You can buy the raspberry one it taste so good too”
Sankshipt looked at the menu on the wall before nodding and saying “Still it doesn't replace the one you already ordered”.
A minute passed with a sudden awkwardness in the air Vyani extended her hand to grab her icecream before Shiskha extended her hand with the icecream to Sankshipt “It's okay you can have it we will buy another flavour”
“What-” Vyani said in a small voice.
“Vyani, try the raspberry one this time you should try to change your taste too.” Avni said, taking out the raspberry icecream and handing it to Vyani.
Vyani was fazed but not surprised, pretty boys change many girls. She would have done the same if it was Ayaan.
Sankshipt gave them a small smile with the corners of his lips and paid the lady before heading out of the cafe and after some steps, opening the packet before biting the tip of the chocolate cone which was actually his favourite flavor.
Vyani was already giving sarcastic smiles to both of them before they started giving her their icecreams but she only loved one flavour but unconditionally.
“Come on, he wanted it for his little sister,” Avni said.
“Ya Ya I know” Vyani said biting down her cone before all three headed out of the cafe.
Sankshipt went outside the cafe in a minute, avni made a remark about him being so introverted to Vyani and Shiksha.
The sky was dark at this point when she came out of the cafe eating the last bite of her ice cream as she said her goodbyes before she strided back to her nest, her corner, she don't even say now that she wants to go home, it's always she wants to go to her room, because she doesn't even know the person next to her room anymore so what's the point of calling it a home.
