You called out, and I listened. With all the noise in this grand city, I was surprised I was able to hear your delicate voice. You didn’t look me in the eyes. You knew it was your last chance. The last moments you had to ask for my love again. Why did you even try? You knew that there wasn’t any love left in me for you. Yet you tried anyways, hoping desperately that just a small grain was left in my heart. You searched wildly for something, anything that was still left in me that belonged to you. I looked at you emotionless, with the noises of car horns and people yelling all around us. The sounds of the busy city streets distort anything you wanted to say to me. For a split second, I felt something… I felt bad. I felt bad that you were pouring out your heart for me, but the constant echoes of the bustling city wouldn’t let anything get to my ears. How can I love you again? I forgot how my love for you worked. The static in my head will not allow me to think of us, of a time that we once belonged together. I think I did hear you that cold night. I just didn’t want to listen. 71Please respect copyright.PENANASo0gpl2mhi
