Draco and Lila were at the Eiffel Tower, celebrating their anniversary. They had their first date there, years ago, and it was their special spot.
"Wow, look at that view. It's so romantic," Lila said, gazing at the city lights.
"Yeah, it's beautiful. Just like you," Draco said, looking at her.
"Aw, that's sweet... Just like this crepe," Lila said, taking a bite of her dessert.
"Hey, that's mine. Give it back," Draco said, snatching the crepe from her.
"Hey, that's rude. Share it with me," Lila said, grabbing the crepe back.
"Hey, that's fair. Fine, you can have some," Draco said, breaking the crepe in half.
"Hey, that's small. Give me the bigger piece," Lila said, swapping the halves.
"Hey, that's cheating. You're such a brat," Draco said, laughing.
"Hey, that's true. But you love me anyway," Lila said, smiling.
They kissed, and cuddled. They felt the same love, and the same happiness, as they did every time.
They started to talk, and reminisce. They recalled how they met, and how they fell in love. They also talked about their hopes and fears for their future, and their daughter, Alyn, who was waiting for them at home, with their nanny.
They missed her, and they wanted to see her. But they also wanted to be with each other. They wanted to enjoy their time, and their anniversary. They wanted to celebrate their love, and their life.
They looked at each other, and smiled. "I love you, Draco. You're the best thing that ever happened to me," Lila said.
"I love you, Lila. You're the best thing that ever happened to me, too," Draco said.
"Ever wonder what became of your family back in America?" she mused.
"You can read about my dad on the news every day. I hear my little brother is taking over his company someday. Considering all this China-Hong Kong tension, I wouldn't be surprised if it became a weapons company. My mom is writing, as always. She said she might move to France to see Alyn, but I don't know for sure."
"No offense," Lila said, "but she can be a very fickle person sometimes."
"She is, but trust me, she would have learnt her lesson."
"By the way, one of my friends from England is coming over next week on vacation. You remember Aliyah Philips, from the wedding?"
"She was the girl who wrote that speech about you, and said to me, "You better take care of her, mister, or I'ma make you regret you ever saw her", or something?" Draco asked.
"Oui. That's her. She had a kid a year before us, actually. They're all coming over."
"So that means he is five?"
"I think so. I hope he and Alyn get along..."
"They will." Draco assured her, and wrapped his arm around her waist. "Now come on, finish your crepe. We better get home soon."
"It's too huge..."
"You asked for the bigger half, babe." he teased, while she just rolled her eyes.
"And yet, I said yes..." she muttered to herself, smiling. Life couldn't get better.
