I wake up in a sweat, jerking to a sitting position. My eyes wide, I look around frantically in an attempt to find out what woke me up. I look at my lap and close my eyes, moving a shaky hand to my mouth. Nothing. Must have been a nightmare. I shake my head and open my eyes, analyzing my bedroom. The desk was next to the doorway, my band posters hanging above it. To the right was a filing cabinet-- filled with yarn, blankets and stuffed animals. On the next wall, there was an opening for my closet. Wait.. No. There isn't. What happened? I took a closer look-- I knew my room. Of course I did, it had been my room for a couple of years. But upon closer inspection, there was a doorway to go into my closet. I just couldn't go in, because there was a dark figure standing there. It was tall and dark, like a distorted shadow, standing there, watching me. It had no features, but I could feel it watching me.
