/The Knob\ 'Poem'

The poem shakes me,

The tears run down my cheeks

I hide a sob, I turn the knob

And I run out the door.

I sit in the hallway,

Glass against my back

The kids walking by me

All stare

I stop the tears,

I stop the sobs

I stand up and turn the knob

I walk in the room,

Calm and slow

I sit in my seat and I don’t show.

I don’t show the tears that fell,

I don’t show how hard it hit.

I get stared at and whispers,

But that’s it.

I don’t care what they say

And even if I did,

I’ll still stand another day.
