一棟老舊公寓裡，何悅連續數晚的深夜，聽到隔壁鄰居傳出小孩的哭聲。她知道隔壁住了一個老婆婆，而同樓層的另一位鄰居則是值夜班的男子。他們三人都是獨居，根本沒有人的家住進小孩。她怕發生社會慘劇，而留了個心眼。
有一晚，她再次聽到哭聲，這次她決定去探究......
她發現哭聲來自一位小男孩，而小男孩自稱他已死了四十多年了？！
他快要投胎了，所以來探望他的生母，也察覺到母親對他的思念……
在他完成心願，鬼差到來時，何悅發現自己的不同……
