it’s not true, tell me i’ve been lied to,

my heart feels confused and in disarray

im tangled in a web it’s leading me astray,

but through all the pain i still wait, i’m still holding on tight,

hoping for my happiness to be pure, so i can make everything right.

my heart has a wound that’s opening more and more,

it’s been fixed once,

but can i fix it again?

can anyone?

now i’m lost and confused.

what the hell did i do?

never been the type to,

let someone see right through.

i wish to be a kid again

when i was happy

and i didn’t know what life was going to bring

i wish i didn’t look forward to it so much,

i opened my heart up

i let everything in and it was held so delicately,

so softly,

until it wasn’t.

people mistreated it, destroyed it, broke it.

even after everything i did for them.

up all night, on another red eye,

i wish we never learned to fly.

maybe we should just try,

to tell ourselves a good lie,

i didn’t mean to make you cry.

my soul yearns to be okay, truly okay

without any problems, causing this abyss,

this abyss inside me.

we fall apart as it gets dark,

i’m in your arms in Central Park,

there’s nothing you could do or say

i can’t escape the way i love you.
