Elena wished this wasn't happening.
"I'm not leaving you, dad." She said, "No matter what you say."
She thought she was prepared for this. But her eyes had became blurry. Cracked even. Her father met her eyes, "Yes you will. You will go to where this darkness source is coming from and end it."
He then faced the panel on his side of the wall and punched several buttons. Elena looked at the bronze gateway infront of her as it whirred to life. Electrical sparks met at the centre.
"Y-You can come with me dad. We ca-"
"It is unstable, Elena." His dad cupped her face and smiled, "I'll risk sending us both to oblivion. You can do it."
She could never understood her father even now. When there were screams throughout the building and the lights flickered non-stop, her father was very calm. Too calm for her comfort.
Without realizing, a tear had trickled down her cheek. Her dad wiped it away.
"When I said now, you jump. Alright?"
"W-what?" The word escaped her mouth. She heard her father sharp and clear. Only she couldn't believe it. Everything was too surreal to be real.
The blue sphere at the center of the gateway expanded rapidly, like it was going to explode even with the slightest of touch. The lights flickered again. 74Please respect copyright.PENANAABUuchWsWx
She breathe uneven breaths as she forced herself to look into his father's eyes, "I-I'm scared."
Her father let her face go, "Don't be."
Something pounded the reinforced metal door that separated them from the monsters outside. "Curses. Now!"
Elena cried as she walked into the focused electrical sphere and screamed as everything went black.
