The Astral Plane is the first key to all of this research. Current human science focuses mostly on the observable universe more than the unobservable universe. The Astral Plane was more of a challenge for proof for both Humans and the AVPSI (initially). What is certain - is that the interaction level between these planes, namely the astral and the physical one is very low at best. Most humans have no sense or detection for the astral plane. Even active Scions knew so little about the matter, at least until the AVPSI conducted research following the lead of Herios.
