禮記有所謂君子不食嗟來之食，人有其尊也。

眾知之矣，然不知君子以至於斯，是應何解邪？

君子每遇有窮饑者坐道旁而不乞焉，必側坐與之，撥髮汙顏，持饃同與食。是故，君子欲授而完顧受者之顏面，必有不忍人之心，以其身位而考其心也，受者既受其食，亦受其仁，是施捨之禮也！
