Kaera Calyphian is a girl in a kingdom full of corrupt conquerors, swift thieves, and blood-thirsty assassins. But, Kaera has had her own share of crime as well. At the age of eight, her parents threw her out on the streets and in order for her to fend for herself...she had to steal to survive. Eventually, the inquisition caught up to her and she's been on the run ever since. 

That was seven years ago. Now, she's seventeen and it's becoming harder and harder to survive. But, when Kaera finds a quiet forest in the middle of nowhere to hide out in, the inquisition manages to find her again. In the midst of running away, Kaera falls down a dark hole and ends up in another kingdom...one even more ruthless and uncanny than the one she lives in now. 

Kaera will soon be led on a quest into the wildest parts of this new kingdom and might learn more out about herself in the process.
