Hvitur scanned the shadows, searching for any red scales. Good, no SkyWings. He glanced around, unsure of what to look for. {What does a prophecy egg look like? It’s not like there was an instruction manual. That would be nice.}
‘SkyWing egg of mountain high’ wasn’t very helpful. As far as Hvitur could tell, there were a lot of mountains, and they all looked the same. Then he saw it. A crimson egg( dramatic foreshadowing…) was balanced precariously on the edge of a nest. Hvitur snatched the egg wand jumped from his perch, not caring how loud he was. He had the egg!
He was happy until fire scorched his wing. He fell toward the mountaintop and landed with a crash on his burnt wing. {OW OW OW OW OW OoOoOoOoOoWwWwWwWw ThAt HuRtS} He looked up to see the last dragon he had wanted to see. Burn of the Sandwings.
“What’s this, little Icewing?” She asked, plucking the egg from Hvitur’s grasp. “You’re one of those peace dragons, aren’t you. Well, too bad…” She started tossing the egg higher and higher. Hvitur’s brain stopped. {She was going to break the egg, the war wouldn’t stop EVER now, and his wing hurt, and he was going to die, and the prophecy would die too, NOoooooooooOOOOOOOOO…} Aaaaand THEN he remembered his frostbreath. Hvitur opened his snout and blasted burns ugly face off. ( lNot literally.) Burn howled and clawed at her face. Hvitur took his chance and sprinted for the ledge, when burn swung her tail madly and stabbed his chest. She missed his heart, but it was still poison. Hvitur still fled for the cave in the mountains and crashed into Dune. “The egg…Burn…Poison…please…” And then he died.
(Ah, evil endings. The next ending is better, I promise.)
